A highly commendable decision to call out Azaan simultaneously from all mosques in the federal capital from May 1, 2015 was adopted at a high level meeting of the Ulema of various sects chaired by the Religious Affairs Minister Sardar Mohammad Yousuf. A news ticker on a TV channel read, “Altaf Hussain has allowed use of Jinnah Ground to PIT for its public meeting”. May I ask, in what capacity has he done so? I always thought it was the city administration who could permit use of a public place for a public meeting or not.
