 Not march but double march

Without any prejudice, favor or antagonism I am not adding anything from my side rather on the contra I will state nothing but facts and that too drawn from the statements of the two rival political parties and then leave it to your own fair judgment to either be on my side or be against me.

For quite many weeks for sure if not months, our political arena is witnessing some extra ordinary activities wherein each one is trying to oust the other one. There are many political parties which are in the game but two of them have come very much opposite to each other and as the time is passing on, they are becoming more bitter and sour and it can very safely and confidently be said that as the time passes on their hostilities are going to increases instead of subsiding. The worst part is that our political leaders are more interested in the individuals rather than the political party and therefore very often it is learnt and observed that the political leaders are targeted more in their personal capacity rather their political official capacity.

I am sure that all of you have understood as to whom I am referring to but yet for the benefit of those who still could not make and head and tail of it I am mentioning the names of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League (N) and as and when one talks of these parties it is quite but natural that we talk of President Asif Ali Zardari who is co-chairman of PPP and Mian Nawaz Sharif who heads PML (N). Needless the mention, PPP is in the power and is yet to complete one more year as the mandate won by it in last election whereas PML (N) is in opposition and wants to throw our PPP and instead garb the power. As a matter of fact, in principle PPP must be allowed to complete its tenure but regretfully PML (N) is opposing PPP tooth and nail and it wants that the elections should be held soonest possible if not now meaning by that PPP should not complete its tenure which is unfair on the part of PML (N) to be honest. Any party when wins the elections it automatically is entitled to complete its tenure and none should ask them to quit earlier but regretfully our political heavy weights are either immature or insane and therefore they cannot digest what constitution bestows upon the winners.

Both the parties are flouting at each other and trying to give an impression to their respective and prospective voters that in the next election they will not only win but win with thumping majority. PPP boasts of winning the next election as well whereas PML (N) is claiming that it will be the winner and not PPP and at this point of time it is very much difficult to figure out as to whom could be the winner or loser for that matter. Both the political parties have already started their election campaign and their leadership has instructed their chain of command at grass root level to meet the commoners and assure them that their miseries are likely to end and replaced by happiness. People are being met in their own localities and quite good number of people has already given their consent to vote for one particular party which is a healthy democratic sign and this is what the most crucial stage is as it is the commoner who matters the most in election.

Both the parties have turned like enemies since Supreme Court issued contempt of court notice to Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani, Prime Minister who certainly belongs to PPP and ever since SC has convicted PM, its opponents got a very golden chance to beat drums and ask for his resignation from premiership. SYRG has stood up against it like a rock and has loudly and publicly said that he is a duly elected leader and will never ever quit unless he completes the tenure bestowed upon him by the constitution. As regards his conviction, the point which PML (N) drums up, SYRG said that his conviction is not at all conclusive from any set of imagination and therefore he is going to file an appeal against it in SC. Other political parties too have demanded that after the conviction, PM must quit but nothing doing. PM is working with same powers, zeal and zest like before as if nothing has happened. SYRG is in UK to attend Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations which itself proves that there is no change in the status of SYRG.

However, Mian Nawaz Sharif has announced his program about holding public meetings in Punjab and some such gatherings have already been held in some towns where quite a good number if people have come and listened to what Mian said against President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed yousuf Raza Gilani. Mian is yet to hold some more meetings and if by them PM does not quit then he will head a long march towards Islamabad which I believe is not a hollow slogan but a reality to awe Islamabad. PPP has taken note of it and Qaim Ali Shah, Chief Minister of Sindh has counter announced that he will lead a rally of millions of people who will march from Sindh to the house of Mian Nawaz Sharif in Raiwind (Lahore) so that he comes to his senses. This is very counter activity on the part of PPP to thwart what PML (N) had thought of and certainly it will demoralize Mian to a greater extent.  Isn’t it funny to see two marches which perhaps did not happen alike in Pakistan if I am not mistaken?

Let us vote as to who wins in the single march or the double march?
