Mind boggling question for opposition?

What a new twist!! Mian Nawaz Sharif who had been too vocal against PPP government as a whole and against Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani in particular after his conviction by Supreme Court of Pakistan has all of a sudden has decided not to open his mouth anymore against the government. Generally speaking one gradually opposes and likewise gradually it is toned down but in the present case under discussion Mian is toning down suddenly and not gradually and therefore it has become so conspicuous that it is very much striking and noticeable and hence cannot be ignored in any case whatsoever.

Mian Nawaz who off and had issued very furious and insulting statements hurling stones not only against PPP government as a whole but also by name against President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yousef Raza Gillani has created some tremor within the ruling junta. Lately,  Mian already embarked upon the campaign against the government and as a result has addressed public in many cities during the last fortnight and few more were to be addressed before launching long march towards Islamabad. Quite a big number of people have attended his meetings which proves that PML (N) does enjoy some popularity at least if not who popularity which as such cannot and should not be ignored in any case.

Everone has seen that very much hostile worded placards against PPP government were carried by many people at all the places wherever Mian had addressed. Mian even blessed all those who had been shouting ‘go Gillani go’ in his public addresses meaning by that he will not let Gillani continue working as PM. There was going to be big show down against budget in National Assembly because all MNAs of PML (N) must have bluntly opposed the budget and even had walked out of assembly session to register their opposition to the budget. However, very much surprisingly today Saturday 26th May, 2012 newspapers very prominently reported in their issues that Mian Nawaz Sharif who heads PML (N) has announced that he will no more be opposing the government and has also instructed to all party office bearers that they should forthwith stop to be hostile to PPP set up. Mian has also asked his all MNAs that as per the changed circumstances he is instructing then now they are not to oppose but support PPP which is likely to table the budget in National Assembly in next few days.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan who was on official visit to Pakistan just few days back has brokered a working relationship between PPP and PML (N) whereby it has been agreed in principle that Mian Nawaz will no more be hostile towards PM and will not create any hurdle in formation of a care taker set up which is very much in the offing to oversee the next general election process. It is believed to have been mutually agreed upon between PPP and PML (N) that after passing of annual budget, Mian will fly out from Pakistan for London and stay there for some considerable time so that he does not interfere with the actions of the government and give complete free hand to the government to run day today affairs.

From one point of view, I very much commend the efforts of Turkish PM to cool down Mian Nawaz Sharif but at the same time because each peace loving including myself loves peace and tranquility and not and not anger and hostilities. However, at the same time, I am a bit concerned about the fate of the rest of the opposition leaders who I believe have been completely ignored at this point of time otherwise the foreign dignitary must have met them also and one may likely to construe that perhaps there is no other opposition party in the country except PML (N). Imran Khan who uses none but tsunami and claims to sweep in the next election and if the present set up of PPP which wants to continue governing the country for another term had been scared of his tsunami then PPP must have hinted Turkish PM to meet Imran as well but it did not happen so. Perhaps Turkish PM also did not reckon Imran’s tsunami otherwise he must have met him even for few minutes if not for an hour but it was never on the card in any case.

Has Imran Khan (whom I love) and other opposition leaders not been ignored is my 1st question? How much they can still frighten Asif Ali Zardari or Syed Yousuf Raz a Gillani is my 2nd question? What can be the action and or reaction from PML (Q); PML (F); JI and ANP which are much older political parties than Imran’s PTI is yet another question? Where does APML headed by Gen ® Pervez Musharraf (my another favorite) stand now is my last question?
