Israel Cannot Bully Iran, Cannot attack

Dr. Abdul Ruff Colachal

Israel is one of those anti-Islamic nations that are not quite happy with US President Barack Obama’s overtures towards Iran and Islamic world. Against all odds, Obama has made many overtures to Iran. He abandoned Washington's demand that Tehran give up uranium enrichment altogether, which had been a precondition to negotiations under his predecessor, George W. Bush. In a video message to the Iranian people coinciding with the festival of Nowruz, which marks the beginning of the Iranian New Year, Obama spoke of the great civilizing achievements of the Persian nation. He has also admitted to historical mistakes, such as the 1953 CIA-backed coup that toppled liberal Prime Minister Mohammed Mossadegh. The stiff resistance showcased by Tehran has now made the UN Security Council look a naughty organization and irreverent for world peace and the UNSC and Germany, a barter deal that would allow all parties to save face: Iran was to ship a large share of its low-enriched uranium abroad for one year, to Russia or Turkey, and in return would receive nuclear fuel elements processed by France.

Behind the scenes in Vienna, there are grave concerns over news that Iran could be well on its way to developing a Shahab-3 midrange missile that could be upgraded to carry nuclear weapons and could reach Tel Aviv. Iranian scientists are believed to have successfully simulated the detonation of a nuclear warhead. Experts believe that it could take Iran as little as a year to acquire the expertise and a sufficient quantity of highly enriched uranium to build a real nuclear warhead. Besides, the intelligence reports about a restructuring in the Iranian Defense Ministry are no less alarming. According to those reports, a "Department for Expanded High-Technology Applications" (FEDAT) is now under great pressure from the government in Tehran to push ahead with a military nuclear program.

Eager to employ Iranian nukes as a bargain chip with USA to abandon their demand for illegal settlements freeze in Palestine, Israel believes that Iran shall have nukes shrotly and is merely playing for time. The Mossad, Israel's intelligence agency, has long had its capacities directed at Iran, and not just since Netanyahu came into office. Israeli envoys quietly visit European companies that export products to Tehran to paly spoil game, but failed. When agitated German executives insist that their products are intended purely for civilian purposes, the Israelis produce photos showing the European components installed in one of Iran's nuclear plants.

Anti-Iran specialists hope, with the Iranian economy weakened, the regime under internal pressure after the disputed elections and the Russians distancing themselves from Iran, the chances that sanctions will succeed have never been this good, say some diplomats in Tehran. Others, however, believe that the timetable of escalation is already as good as fixed, and that the conflict is coming to a head. They believe that tighter sanctions will start in the spring of 2010, followed by air strikes perhaps in the summer of 2010.

According to conservative sources in Tehran, President Ahmadinejad was recently quite willing to make a compromise. He apparently hoped that he could spruce up his reputation, heavily tarnished as a result of the election disaster, at least internationally. This, say the Tehran sources, explains why Iranian chief nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili signaled a willingness to make concessions at the historic nuclear summit in Geneva in early October, a meeting at which an Iranian official came face-to-face with a senior representative of the "Great Satan" for the first time since the Iranian revolution. Meanwhile, a representative of the Iranian government has already issued precautionary threats: "If the enemy wants to test its bad luck and fire a missile into Iran, before the dust settles, Iran's ballistic missiles will target the heart of Tel Aviv." Only if possessing the bomb jeopardizes the regime's survival as well as of other nuclear states, will Ahmadinejad decide against building the weapon, but only if others also do the same.

A key reason for the Iranian politicians' self-confidence is that they do not believe that Israel would truly risk an attack on Iran. US experts also warn against the bombing of Iran's nuclear facilities since that cold be disastrous for Israel and Mideast igniting a regional full scale war in which Israel would be crippled and decimated. . David Albright, head of the Washington think tank ISIS, believes that a "surgical strike" against the nuclear facilities would be completely impossible. According to Albright, no one knows how many nuclear sites Iran has, and the centrifuges in existing facilities like Natanz are apparently installed in tunnels so deep underground that even bunker-busting bombs could not destroy everything. Israeli or American attacks would be repulsed with vigorous force.

Islam’s enemy is every where even within the Islamic world. The UNSC resolution, which was accepted the next day by a large majority, is essentially nothing but a demand for assurances from Tehran not to maintain any further undeclared nuclear facilities. In one of the biggest military maneuvers in recent years, the Iranian leadership spent five days parading all of its available military equipment, almost as if it were preparing for the worst. The display of Iran's tanks and fighter jets was not only intended to intimidate the "Zionist aggressor" and its allies.

The Western Axis powers have awfully failed to instigate the Iranians against their president and are now working for a sort of settlement, however short term that could be.  Thanks to nefarious designs by Israel-West to weaken Islamic Iran, Iranians hate Americans, Israelis and other western trouble shooters. In the months of the revolution, in 1978 and 1979, millions of Iranians used the slogan "Allahu akbar" ("God is great") in protest against then Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi and his brutal Savak intelligence service. But to what extent is this leadership now capable of taking action? Will it accommodate the global community in the nuclear conflict, or does the regime see confrontation with the West as its opportunity to survive?

One fails to understand what is wrong in Iran developing nukes if it has not yet make them already, as its legitimate right at par with other nuclear powers, when Israel could have them illegally. The benefit for the international community was that it could be sure that the Iranians, during the period covered by the deal, would have no opportunity to pursue their own extensive enrichment activities needed to produce highly enriched uranium, the material used to make bombs. Meanwhile, UNSC is working out details to cripple the nuclear format of Tehran. The Iranians seemed interested at first, but then they began setting conditions. In the end, Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki rejected the offer, stating that Tehran would definitely not send fissile material abroad.

The Western powers have bestowed upon the terrorist Zionist regime the status of region’s nuclear power to control the Arab nations and to kill Palestinians and encouraged it to attack ships to confiscate the goods and arms meant for Palestine or other Islamic nation.  Israel attacks the ships and takes away the weapons to sell to the third world. In January 2002, Israeli terror forces stormed the Karine A freighter on the Red Sea, and confiscated what the military said were 50 tons of missiles, mortars, rifles and ammunition headed for Palestine security in the Gaza Strip. Authorities from other countries, including the USA and UK last month, have stopped ships suspected of carrying arms in the past. All weapons are stored in Israel- the Mideast arms depot - for resale. Obviously, the USA has been shielding a terrorist state Israel in all it does and does not. They also create problems of insecurity for Palestine and other Arab nations.

Israel is moreover well equipped with western arms and systems, including illegal nukes, the Zionist regime is keen not allow any nation in the region to be militarily strong enough to contain its terror attack methods.  In January 2002, Israeli forces stormed the Karine A freighter on the Red Sea, and confiscated what the military said were 50 tons of missiles, mortars, rifles and ammunition headed for Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip. Authorities from other countries, including the United States last month, have stopped ships suspected of carrying arms in the past. Meanwhile, on 07 Dec an Israeli man in his 30s ran toward the fence from the Israeli side of the Erez crossing and ignored orders to stop trying to climb the fence, the military shot him dead, because he was going to Gaza. The military later bluffed that the man was mentally ill. The man, who has not yet been officially identified, drove to the crossing point in the early hours of Monday morning, parked his car and ran toward the fence. The reasons for his action are not known as yet. Gaza is under a tight Israeli and Egyptian blockade, tightened since Hamas took over the strip in 2007. The Erez crossing point at the northern edge of the Gaza Strip has been almost totally locked down by the Israeli military, and very few people pass through it currently.

Double-speak is not good for Islamic world, especially for the Arab nations on Palestine. Arab world has not shown any compassion in real terms, let alone support, for Palestine, its people and their combined security against the repeated terror attacks of fascist Israel. Mideast east nations have to consider proper ways to strengthen the security of Palestine and Lebanon to stop the fascist Israel form attacking them in future. The anti-Islamic strategists generally put forwards warnings to Iran saying chances of success depends wholly on its willingness to compromise with western powers that shield the Zionist regime that has also acquired nukes  illegally and kept the news a top secret to the world community.

Wepaons that now lying under Israeli custody must be procured and safely handed over to the respective owner-nations and Palestine should be provided with enough military equipment to protect themsleves from any future terror attacks from Israel.

Finally, emboldened by the USA and European Axis evil nations, Israel still refuses to understand simple facts about Iran. Iran remains a respected Islamic state in the world and it wields power in Arab world. Iran is not Palestine and Mahmoud Ahmadinajad is not Mahmoud Abbas and fascist Israel cannot wag it dirty tail against Tehran. This is just like the reality that USA cannot bully China now, nor can Russia attack Washington, and India Russia..
