Pakistan after Bin Laden
The New York Times in its editorial of May 13th, titled 'Pakistan after Bin Laden' criticised Pakistan severely stating that “Pakistan’s leaders have very tough decisions to make. They need to realize that the days of Washington’s unconditional support are over.”
I agree with the tough decisions the leaders of Pakistan have to make but they will not be the ones suggested by the newspaper. Instead, the decisions will be linked to the changed circumstances created by the now aware people of Pakistan who are pressurising their leaders to tell the US that the days of unconditional yes to their 'do more' are over. And US should realise that the loud shouts of the angry public are waking the leaders from the deep slumber of the last 60 years.
