Natija Phir Wohi Hoga:

Today is the election day. The leaders have as usual promised moons and stars to the masses without meaning an iota of it. Once elected, they would again turn to the same looting and plundering with complete impunity and without any fear of accountability what so ever.

The poor masses, being coaxed by all and sundry with the media leading to vote, would once again stand in long queues and brave the heat in the hope of getting a better tomorrow!!  I am no pessimist but not too optimistic either – a sort of realist. The writing on the wall is VERY clear for all to read.  No one is going to have the comfortable majority to form the government.  It is bound to be a coalition with all its drawbacks and shortcomings. To start with the coalition has to have an army of ministers, ministers of estate, advisors and specialists to accommodate the coalition partners. Then the policy of appeasement would necessarily yield to bargaining the cabinet portfolios. The more the lucrative a ministry the more the chances of corruption in it.  Hence the same cycle of loot, khasoot and plunder for another five years or so!!  Imran or no Imran, the forces of democratic corruption are too strong for anyone to withstand.

So, where is the change?  The change for the better?  The change for the poor???
