Parliamentarians’ Assets
According to a news report ECP has suspended the membership of 26
parliamentarians for not declaring their assets by the deadline date of
September 30th, 2013. I simply fail to understand as to why did they
not do so?! What were they afraid of? These 26 are probably not aware of
the power that their clout enjoys. Have the assets of ANY repeat ANY
parliamentarian been ever scrutinized or investigated into? Has anyone
been ever penalised for declaring his/her assets incorrectly or, ever made to
pay the taxes according to the assets – declared and hidden? No one dare touch
them even if they don’t declare 50 miilions or so detected in their bank
account as they can get away by simply saying, “I don’t know who deposited this
money in my bank account”. And that was the end of it!! Allah
