National Savings Schemes
The rate of monthly profit on Bahbood Savings Certificates (BSC) and Pensioners’ Account was revised upwards in December 2008. However, the increased rate of profit was not automatically extended to the certificate/account holders with the result they had to encash their investments after paying heavy service charges in order to reinvest them with the NSC for higher rate of profit. However, just after two months on 02-02-2009 the government allowed such conversions to be made without deduction of any service charges.
Since the BSC and Pensioners’ Account are meant to offer relief to the widows, senior citizens and old pensioners with meager income, it is earnestly requested that the service charges deducted for the conversions made by them before 2nd February 2009 may please be refunded to them.
