The copter crash carrying the foreign envoys and their lady wives to Neltar for the opening ceremony of an event there and which would have been a memorable one for them most tragically turned out to be one of the gloomiest days in our history. A news ticker on a TV channel read, “Altaf Hussain has allowed use of Jinnah Ground to PIT for its public meeting”. May I ask, in what capacity has he done so? I always thought it was the city administration who could permit use of a public place for a public meeting or not.
