A very apt comment from Gen. R D Bhatti (Retd) former ambassador to N. Korea on the New Year outburst of President Trump against Pakistan. “Friendship between Pakistan and United States is spread over seven decades. The latest remarks of President Trump against Pakistan are direct condemnation of the past leadership of the United States who had cultivated and maintained a mutually beneficial

Ever since return of Sharif brothers from Saudi Arabia they have surprisingly adopted a somewhat more aggressive stance in their utterances and press conferences. Of late MNS has threatened in no uncertain terms of disclosing secrets spread over 40 years that he has at an appropriate time. As an ordinary citizen I am not at all concerned what secrets he has and against whom but I am certainly worr

If Musharraf was the killer why was he not tried for it by the Zardari 5 year government? There is tons and tons of evidence available which if sifted even cursorily could easily pin point the r

The CJP Mian Saqib Nisar addressing a Pakistan Bar Council seminar on Saturday December 16, 2017 sought their cooperation in carrying out the judicial reforms to ensure expeditious justice to the people. I don’t know what is the big deal or the great hullabaloo in appointing the NAB Chairman ? Do the appointing authorities expect any favours from him or expect him to act against his conscience if at all and when a time comes when they or any of their cronies have to be accountable before him? If not, let there be any competent person appointed so. Only, who so ever he may be should declare all

A new chairman NAB is to be appointed on the expiry of the term of the present incumbent in the near future which would once again be a consensus choice of the Leaders of the House and Opposition. NAB is a very very important organ of the state that can bring all and sundry to account for their deeds and misdeeds without fear or favour. It must, therefore, be able to act as impartially as possibl

May I plead the most honourable, honest and highly capable judges of our higher judiciary to tell us please that do they in their most sagacious heart of hearts really believe that some (read most) of our politicians are not corrupt ? And, when confronted with the law most of them go scot-free due to the inefficient/partisan trial conducted by their appointees, lack of evidence and hairsplitting
