I don't understand, what is going on in this country of musharraf and some jarnel-karnels. I am rather afraid, and I am shivering under my skins.
gen musharraf's 'government' (where of-the-shelf prime minister Shaukat Aziz is also a 'willing' and 'smiling' partner in the 'government' ) and Benazir's Peoples Party (rather Benazir herself only) reached into a reconciliation, billed as 'national reconciliation' , and the worthy general brought out an Ordinance to give legal sanctity to it.
But what sort of 'national reconciliation' is this? Though PPP, through its glib-tounged office bearers, and through the effective and pungent verbosity in its rank and file, has almost successfully convinced everyone including the most unsatiable (atleast on the face) TV anchors that, the this Ordinance was not only a PPP-centric something given by the big-hearted general musharraf, but also for everyone including the disobidient Nawaz Sharrif, yet in the same breath it is spewing fire against the main 'party' in power, the lovely Q-League. On the other hand Q-League is also not ready to stay behind, and it is uttering all sorts of such things, naturally in utter frustration, against the Deal and the 'reconciliation of musharraf with PPP, including words like 'siasi chaal', 'raat gayee so baat gayee' etc which are normally not expected to be heard on national level.
PPP in its verbal tirade obviously sparing, rather saving, its benefactor the great general musharraf. Its verbal war is very calculated and targetted to only Q-League-walas. PPP thinks that musharraf genuinely wants 'national reconciliation' (duh!!), but Q-Leaguers are out there to subbotage the 'reconciliation' process, as they are, according to PPP spin masters, afraid of their future, their survival and public standing. If this is the situation, if there is no reconciliation between supposedly future partners in power, the Q-League and PPP, or even if in the extreme situation of Q-League's ouster from and PPP's coming in to power, both these wings of great musharraf are not ready to see one another eye to eye, and vociferously against one another, even before power plots are settled, then what would be the future scenario? Where will be the stability? There are not only these two wings of musharraf, there are also other brabbling parties standing on the side line as poor political urchins, disarrayed thanks to hi-fi power game of army establishment as well as of American establishment.
If these war of words, and also of Sindh government's and Punjab government's endeavour to take down all welcoming banners, posters and fastons from city buildings, are any indication then in my opinion the upcoming situation would be very much disturbing, if not dangerous. There won't be any 'reconciliation' , any understanding, but would be the confirmed ruling of the general. But interestingly, all our political experts and analysts are totally ignoring this aspect of unfolding events. For now they are only totally drenched in electrifying hypes of Benazir's coming back.
I think all political and current affairs experts should take notice of, and should speak up against the political confrontations already in the air. The should ask musharraf, what sort game he is playing at the behest of American establishment against the voiceless and mindless common Pakistanis.
Above all, Supreme Court judges should take notice of all these games and looming black cloud, and play their just role in saving nation from the dangerous situation.
