Subject: Pakistan is millennium ahead

 

Dear Editor: Assalamo Alaikum

 

I fully agree with the results published in Dawn on 11th December 2007. Who says we are backward? We are millennium ahead. In USA the earliest indications of election results come from exit polls. But to have your results ready about a month ahead of the elections is super efficiency and real time travel in the time capsule. In the past we have proven this several times. For example with super efficiency we held Presidential Elections of 2007 from 2002 assemblies. Look at naive and sorry to say stupid Bush who is not declaring Republican Hopeful winner based on 2004 USA elections results. The way Presidential Elections were held with super jet speed in Pakistan were also remarkable. Naive and stupid Americans are given about a year to have lengthy debates on issues. In Pakistan we did not waste even one week over such trivial matters.

In USA the ministers (Sectaries) are required to have their confirmation from both houses i.e. congress and senate, in Pakistan theree is no need for such time wasters. Here people with even questionable BA degree can run the entire health department for years.

Our political leaders after proven  cases of billions of corruption can come back to serve the poor and needy of the country while stupid Americans fire their President over one lie. The USA president can not get confirmation of his appointed Defense Minister (Secretary) because Americna Congress and Senate did not like a drunk man to be their defense minister while we have proven again and again that Pakistani Ministers and President are alcohol resistant and they can smoothly and efficiently run the affairs of the state even if they are in deep coma.

This all proves that Pakistan is millennium ahead of USA. I have a simple and minor request in the end. In order to benefit the poor and needy, the amount of money spent on Elections may be spent on the poor people as they are lining up in big ques for simple Atta. Let us accept the Election results without elisions being held. This will be another feather in our cap.
