Advice to Asif Zardari
It is not that Mr Asif Zardari is short of advisors, never the less, I feel obliged to give him one, especially after having acquaintance with him in 1992-1993, when the police used to bring him handcuffed to PIMS. My sincere advice to him would be to make Aitezaz Hassan, who is well respected politician, as candidate for premiership of PPP. Amin Fahim, being a mature politician, would not mind it. The decision would have following implications;
· It would help erase anti-Pumjabi feelings creeping up in ranks and files of PPP after BB's sad demise.
· It would get support from lawyer's community who feel betrayed by PPP.
· It would reiterate the slogan of PPP being the symbol of federation.
· It would send a positive signal to those 61 judges who refused to take oath under new PCO.
· It would send encouraging message to civil society, students, print and electronic media which were left confused by the policies of PPP
· In the end, it would make Asif Zardari look taller politically.
