Altaf Game Plan
Altaf Hussain has asked his ‘jialas’ not to throng the apex court on 7th of January and has thus provided them as well as himself with a face saving excuse. January in Islamabad is rather cold for the Karachiites to bear it easily. During the early 1960s when the capital was shifted from Karachi to Islamabad most Karachiites went running back to Karachi saying, “Baap re baap yehan to teen razai ka jada parta hai”. Also with the prevalent rail and air fares not many could have afforded to undertake the travel. Next, where would have the so called Pandra Lakh stayed and who would have paid for their board and lodge? As such there would have been hardly anyone venturing from Karachi to ‘throng’ the SC and it would have exposed badly the potent’s power over the masses. Altaf has, as such, played a master stroke of achieving two in one; avoid the embarrassment to himself of not being able to gather the millions to ‘throng’ the court and (two) yet show ‘benignantly’ to the court and the rulers of his respect for the judiciary but in actuality his ostensible hold over the masses of swaying them in any direction that he wants. Well done Altaf, you know the art of duping the masses and the rulers alike.
