US Drug Designs

US Army has solicited RFPs for the construction of a Tactical Command & Ops Center (TCOC) at Jinnah Int. Airport, Karachi.  Details can be viewed at :https://www.fbo.gov/index?s=opportunity&mode=form&id=

Ostensibly this compound will provide the Pakistan Customs Drug Enforcement Cell a nerve center for exchanging information concerning smuggling activities. It will support the officers, staff, and equipment of the Pakistan Customs Drug Enforcement Cell and Rummaging and Patrolling Sections. The project will enable coordinated quick-response to constantly evolving narcotics and contraband smuggling tactics.

However, With the presence of the likely US advisory staff there such a TCOC could in no time be transformed as a  forward base to seize control of the airport for the landings of the US troops there.  It will not be out of place to mention here that the US Marine Corps has also been practicing landing of Marine amphibian divisions on Makran coast just a few years back - again under the garb of anti-drug operations.

It is feared that at an opportune time the “engineered” anarchy at Karachi is made to  get out of control and the local US element of the TCOC could facilitate landing of the US military there, just as NATO did in Libya.

Hope someone has taken into account the possibility of that contingency also?!
