Fake Degree Cheaters

According to “The News” dated 6 March 2013 the Election Commission of Pakistan has categorically stated that none of those MPs whose degrees had been found fake by the Higher Education Commission and even endorsed by the commission as such, would be barred from contesting the next election unless convicted by a court of law.

This is strange to say the least. It is not a question of being a graduate or not, but it is matter of character failing. Any person who proffers any fake document for any office is committing an act of perjury and is a cheat. What else does the ECP want to have to  disqualify a person under articles 62 and 63 of the constitution than such a proof?!

If the ECP doesn’t enforce itself in such matters, the same cheats and the dishonest persons will once again be able to contest the elections and possibly win also. And, that will be the end of the hopes of the nation of ever getting a clean and honest leadership.
