The Writers Should Promote the Higher Cause of Humanity and Peace.

Rawalpindi: (pr):  The ambassador of Tajikistan in Islamabad Sherali Jananov in his presidential address stressed on the need of human values and peace. He was addressing in the poetry book launch ceremony of eminent poet and thinker Dr. Maqsood Jafri arranged by a literary club Sukhanwar. The ambassador said Dr. Maqsood jafri is a poet-philosopher and his writings in poetry and prose exhibit his deep down commitment for human values such as love, peace, justice and humanity. The chairman of Pakistan Academy of Letters  was the chief guest of the august function and he emphasized on the need of harmony between different sections of Pakistani society. He said Dr. Maqsood Jafri is a prolific writer who has written over two dozen books in several languages and has promoted the cause of higher human values. He praised his Urdu poetry book titled " Awaz-e-Asr" and eulogized his diction and thought. He said that besides Urdu poetry, Dr. Maqsood Jafri has written beautiful and thought provoking poems in Persian and English languages. Dr. Maqsood Jafri thanked all the speakers who expressed their views on his book. He said the younger generation should work hard to achieve the glorious goal of human dignity and fraternity. He appealed to  the writers to promote moderation, rationalism and humanism. He said that this is the age of mutual harmony and democracy. It is the moral duty of writers to sow the seeds of love and tolerance and cut the roots of extremism. The prominent critics, poets, journalists and intellectuals participated in the function.
