Indian
Wall Plan and Kashmir Case
Every sane person believes in peace." Aman ki Asha" ( Desire for
Peace) is the heartiest desire of all sensible Indians and Pakistanis. But the
utmost tragedy is that there are some hardliners on both sides who are damaging
peace process between the two countries. It is very unfortunate that the Indian
government under the immense pressure of hardliners is bent upon damaging
Pakistan. Recently, there is a bad news that India plans to construct a wall on
Cease Fire Line in Kashmir. India has already put electric wire on the border
of Kashmir to halt the entrance of the Kashmiry freedom fighters. The Cease
Fire Line is a temporary boundary till the Kashmiris decide their fate either
they join India or Pakistan through free and fair plebiscite under the UN
auspices. India is a signatory of the UN resolution granting the Kashmiris
their in alien right to self-determination.
The UN observers are stationed on the both sides of the Cease Fire Line and
monitor the boundary situation. Kashmir is a disputed territory. According to
the article 370 of the Indian constitution, no Indian can purchase a piece of
land in Kashmir or settle down in Kashmir as a permanent resident. It clearly
shows that Kashmir is not the integral part of India as falsely claimed by the
Indians. Under the circumstances, the construction of 198 kilometer lengthy, 10
mt high and 40 mt wide wall on the dividing border of Indian held Kashmir and
Pakistani administered Kashmir is illegal and against the UN resolutions. It is
strongly recommended that the Pakistan government should immediately raise this
issue in the UNO and get the Indian plan of construction this wall halted. The
Indian wall construction plan is a strategy to bury the issue of Kashmir for
once and all.
