The Royal Bakhsheesh

The IG Police Islamabad has done well in ordering the Policemen who were detailed for providing the security and traffic protocol duties to the recently visiting Saudi Crown Prince and who had in recognition of their such services doled out US$ 500/= to each one of them, total amounting to approx. US$ 50,000/-,  to  deposit the bakhsheesh  in the Police Welfare Fund. The IG is also said to have asked the Foreign Office to advise the visiting dignitaries to desist from such practice in future because the Police were just performing their duty and that they were not Bikharies !

I salute you, Sir, for keeping the head of the force high, making it dignified and raising its self-esteem and morale.
