More Provinces

As if there were already not enough political controversies in the country that Altaf Bhai has thrown in yet another one asking for the creation of a new province in Sindh. Essentially the MQM is eyeing at Karachi with a population of about 20 million majority of which is Urdu speaking and the revenue generation capacity of nearly 70 percent that of Pakistan. Sindh without Karachi will be just like an empty bag that can’t even stand.  And, naturally the sons of the soil resent – nay - abhor the very idea of partitioning the Sindh on any excuse or basis. Khush Bakht Shujaat while addressing a gathering at Teen Talwar square today made a strong case with veiled threats for the separation of Karachi on ‘administrative’ basis and while doing so tried to assure the nation that they (the Urdu speaking) are the die hard Pakistanis and love Pakistan more than any one else --  etc.  My dear Lady, I also happen to know the Karachiites a little. ! I bet if the USA adopts an open policy for issuing the immigration visas not a SINGLE Urdu Speaking Karachite will stay behind to love Pakistan any more.  Sorry for being blunt but that’s a fact.
