Dua e Khair
Not a day passes when the media doesn't show a VVIP raising his hands in dua - of course perfunctorily but with great fanfare - at the opening or the foundation laying ceremony of some building, bridge, hospital or some other similar site. I have never had the good fortune of being part of any such ceremony and as such do not know what do these dignitaries recite on these occasions. I hope the VVIPs in their ignorance are not offering Fateha (in advance) to burry the project for good. I am not very sure of their being bawazoo and in clean clothes also and, therefore, about the efficacy of their dua. .Apparently these are not answered as most of such buildings and bridges start wearing weatherworn ugly look too soon and are rendered useless much before their expected life.
VVIPs are, therefore, requested that instead of relying on their dua only they could visit the site once in a while, if for nothing else, just see the plaque that they had installed there with their own sacred hands - dast e Mubarak - which could give them some idea of the health of the project and how effective their opening ceremony dua had been.
