Zardari’s Clarification
Both Sherry Rehman and Qamar Zaman Kaira, who should have known better,
cut a sorry figure and looked pathetic in trying to convince the seasoned
journalists that the AAZ in his address of June 16th had referred to
the generals and the dictators of the past, and not the present military
leadership for whom he had great respect. Even a primary school child
would know who AAZ had in mind when he said:
1.
“You are here for only three years. It is we who shall remain here for ever”.
(Generals of the past have already gone long ago, most have even died)
2.
“Hamein tang na kro. Hum tumhari eent se eent baja dein gay”.
(Generals of the past cannot “tang karo” him. It
is only the present ones who can do so and it is they who have been threatened
of the dire consequences)
3.
At the close of his tirade he hollered thrice “Hoshiar, Hoshiar, Hoshiar”. (One
doesn’t serve such a warning to the dead and the bygones. It is ONLY for those
who are still around.)
