Discipline Personified

It was indeed refreshing to see the Sri Lankan Security Staff ( Police Force) marching properly in small squads of threes and fours to their stations of duty within the Paley cricket stadium and keeping vigil standing alertly there. How I wish our police too had a similar bearing and carriage while on duty in our streets and other places instead of not only walking slovenly but even loitering often without the head gear!!

There is an old army saying, “ To judge the morale and the battle worthiness of a unit, just look at the turn out and the bearing of one of its soldiers while he is out of his unit lines”.

Well done, Sri Lankan Police, keep it up. I salute thee.
