The Honourable Legislators

It is really distressing to watch some of the TV Talk Shows where the honourable members of the parliament shower each other with slanderous invectives like Chor, Daku, Lutera,  Corrupt, Money Launderer, Tax Evader, Fraudulent, Dishonest, Deceitful and even Traitor so profusely that it leaves the poor viewer askance as to how do they swallow it all?!  Why don’t these men of honour sue the assailant for libel, vilification and defamation? Or, do they in their heart of hearts know and fear that they shall be proved so if they go to the court?  And, oh my God,  if that’s why they don’t sue each other then could there be anything more catastrophic than this for the hapless masses to have such democratically elected leaders to rule over them?  Could the lovers of democracy please throw some light on this false charade going on in the country? What can be done to have clean leadership?  Please don’t quote me the old rotten cli! ché of “panacea for bad democracy is more democracy”. Come up with something better and workable.
