Investiture Ceremony

It was quite reassuring for an old soldier to see that in the Defence Day Awards investiture ceremony the recipients of the awards while receiving the award from the President were not jerking their faces towards the camera to get themselves foootooographed, an unfortunate practice which has crept in lately and seen in our almost all award and prize distribution ceremonies. The persons doing so do not seem to realize that turning their heads away from the award bestowing dignitary to face the camera is highly improper and discourteous to say the least. However, the recipients cannot be blamed for it because they are not cognizant of such protocol. It is for the organizers of the function to brief them before hand about such finer details. I hope this shall be followed by ALL other institutions also.
