Scams, Scums & State Actors of "demoncracy"

Before he came to power US President Barack Obama said "sunlight is the best disinfectant". What he obviously meant was complete transparency in managing the business of the state. Alas democracy, read “demoncracy”, pains acutely and causes severe harms in Pakistan, a great country ruled by corrupt to the core, rotten to the teeth rulers in succession- the present being the tops.

Being an extremely well informed, conscientious and seemingly just leader Mr. Obama who happens to be the most powerful man on the face of the earth today could certainly help exert overt and covert as well as justified pressure on corrupt so-called democratic Pakistani rulers of today to refrain from carrying out their nefarious activities so blatantly. Pakistanis generally don't hate America for being America but rather for its alacrity to support both uniformed and pseudo democratic despots again and again.

President Obama, Sir, Allah has given you the opportunity to correct that negative image that Pakistanis have of your great nation. Believe me siding with Pakistanis instead of supporting their corrupt to the core, rotten to the teeth elites, that make a negligible portion of the population, would turn US a friend for an overwhelming majority of 98 per cent Pakistanis living under ruthless oppression- socio-economic, political, cultural, class and all other kinds.

Ruthlessly exploited Pakistanis urge you President Obama, Sir, to put the evil political-military-feudal-bureaucratic  nexus in its place so they could also benefit from the “best infectant- the sunlight”.

Help us to have an access to 'sunlight- the best disinfectant', Mr. President.  

Having said that let us come to the topic.  

The term “Non State Actors” has suddenly become a favorite catch-line of our policy makers who sprinkle it lavishly in their statements as if it means anything or explains everything. It has been used as one of favorite pastime for our rulers, who try to distinguish themselves “state Actors”, for passing off the blame to “non-state actors where convenient.

While “non-state actors” have become the favorite scapegoat of all mishaps and misadventures in fact it is the “state actors who have made the lives of people a living hell in the land of the pure. Occupying the most important, powerful and strategic positions within the legislation, administration, bureaucracy, military this industrial and landed aristocracy “state players” bamboozle their people with shallow and worn out antics abhorred elsewhere in the world.

These self-proclaimed 'messiah of the people',  promoting themselves as enlightened and secular- as if it means any thing, “state players” find it fit to sermonize the people like who else but Mullahs, whom they appear to despise profoundly for sermonizing. They keep on issuing thickly moral-laden statements despite enjoying the least moral authority. The funny thing is that they expect the people to take their words seriously despite being the most despicable lot on the face of the earth.

These 'virtuous' 'state actors' talk human for the consumption of the civilized masters they depend on to come to or to hold on to power- but they act totally barbaric to their own people. They loot and plunder the resources and wealth of the nation as well as the people with complete immunity. They live in luxuries that could shame the rulers of even the richest nations any side of the globe.

They impose heavy taxes on their subjects on the one hand and let the profiteers loose on them on the other because they are the profiteers themselves, directly or indirectly. They go out of their way to support and encourage the profiteers to suck whatever little blood is left in the emasculated bodies of the people left with. They live in grandeur as their subjects live in abject poverty committing suicide en masse to end their burdensome existence.

They wheel and deal, wine and dine within and outside the country siphoning off riches of the land in dollars, pounds, euros, etc. to foreign banks and offshore companies. They love to buy expensive properties within and outside the country as if there is no tomorrow.

They horde every grain of rice, wheat, sugar, pulses and other commodity and every drop of petroleum, edible oil and water to sell them at a premium at unaffordable prices. They love to systematically create artificial shortage to make fabulous profit over-night.

These “state actors” comprising an unholy lot of petty politicians, bureaucracy, establishment- both civil and uniformed-  share among themselves the riches and bounties, natural or otherwise, of the land in totality but unashamedly refuse to share any of its burdens. This rotten to the core, corrupt to the teeth lousy bunch is not only lazy, worthless, shady and sleazy but it is ruthlessly oppressive to its own people. This characterless bunch of thugs have amassed riches beyond comprehension of ordinary mortals like us through misuse and abuse of their position, political or otherwise as well as sheer fraud, cheating, embezzlement, theft, robberies, kidnapping and even murders when required.

That explains why scams have become the order of the day and the scums have become the rulers. That also explains why “demoncracy” reigns supreme in the name of democracy- a word which the majority of Pakistani rulers- be they parliamentarians, establishment, bureaucracy, rotten to the core feudal and their coteries- could not even spell in English, Urdu or any other language whatsoever.

May Allah give you the wisdom and courage to develop friendship with Pakistani people instead of their unscrupulous rulers, President Obama.
