The Gas Guzzle

Petrol up by Rs 6.10, from Rs 65.11 to Rs 71.21 per litre and High Speed Diesel (HSD) by Rs 3.33 per litre to Rs 71.99 per litre from Rs 68.56, would be the proverbial last straw to break the back of the unfortunate masses who have no say in whatever highhandedness they are  subjected to by OGRA.  Hell with the masses if it costs more to transport items of daily use making it impossible for them to feed even half a morsel a day to their children and family. Hell with the farmers who in these days of short rainfall and perpetual power outage depend heavily upon  diesel water pumps to water their crops. Hell with the people in far off regions where neither natural gas nor LPG is available and they have to fire their hearths with Kerosene. Who cares?! Only it will please the government who will obediently generate more GST under orders from the IMF!! And we call it a Good Governance?!< /span>

I do not see the day very far off when the masses will be in the streets and the truckers on the roads and highways, paralysing even the most VVVVIP movement, with no end to it in view until either the prices are reversed or the --------. I leave it your imagination and wish.
