Food for Thought

Professor Chaman Lal sent the following highly thought provoking Diwali greetings on the net, which allow me to share with you all.  I have added one trait at the end in red which I think is considerably marring the interfaith harmony.

While extending Diwali greetings to all friends and others, I wish that the festival of lights may bring light of reason for the darkest levels of irrationality, intemperance, intolerance spreading thick in many parts of the world. Light of reason, coupled with critical thinking is the only hope for the humanity sinking deep into darkness of greed, selfishness, aggrandizement!, fetish of consumerism and power hunger!   (and religious extremism)
