APL reposed full confidence on the Chief Justice of Pakistan

Association of Pakistani Lawyers (UK) a team of British Pakistani Solicitors, Barristers and judges has taken a serious note of malicious campaign, frivolous allegations and uncalled for intimidation of the office of the chief justice and the supreme court of Pakistan and termed it, condemnable, contemptuous and destructive.

APL chair commented that the Association has found it inexcusable & intolerable for anyone to make judiciary a laughing stock in public and when legal forum(s) of any such complaints are available against an individual and or a judge, such careless CJ bashing must not be allowed by the state as it carries division & destruction within.

APL chair Barrister Amjad Malik took an exception and said, “This kind of sustained campaign against Chief Justice will carry far reaching consequences, and implications for rule of law, democracy and constitutionalism in Pakistan. He warned that no one will give respect to the judiciary, the honourable judges & their judgments if the Parliamentarians and decision makers sit quietly to witness this unprecedented mockery”.

Chief justice of Pakistan, Lord Justice Iftikhar Mohammed Chaudhary is one of the three recipients of the medal of freedom in the ranking of Nelson Mandela and since 9 March 2007 is on course to make Pakistan a country where rule of law and justice is present, sustained, and continued with willingness & respect. He is contributing to make a society where democracy flourishes with corruption free good governance, where people are not missing at the hands of law enforcement and there are no sacred cows and all remain accountable, and last few of his actions on mega scandals of Haj, NICL, Punjab Bank,  Ephedrine, and DHA prove that he is progressing on that front.  

APL chair urged the lawyers, Civil society and media to sit up and save Chief Justice from that onslaught as he holds the last barrage against corruption led Pakistan before corruption goes viral and unstoppable. Lawyers and society will have to acknowledge their senior’s contribution towards ‘rule of law’ drive but move & march on if they wish their dreams to come true as they are confronted with another 9 March, and situations desires that they must be ready for another struggle.
