Pakistan in 2014

As the time is clicking towards the end of 2013, I remember closing my eyes at the end of 2012, when I wished, hoped and prayed for a bright future of Pakistan. Looking back at the year 2013, I see nothing but increasing miniseries, sufferings, tension, hate killings and bloodshed in the country. I ask myself what happened to those wishes, hopes and prayers of mine at the passing out parade of 2012? Most significantly, would I be repeating like a parrot as I did at the dawn of 2013? Then, a flicker appears shining light on a famous quote that says 'despondency is forbidden in Islam'. So in anticipation, next week before I close my eyes at the phasing out of 2013 and springing up of 2014, I will be repeating what I wished at the vanishing 2012. Let's keep our hopes alive. Let Pakistan have a bath in 'Faith, Unity, Discipline.' - a shibboleth of its Quaid, Mohammad Ali Jinnah.
