VIP Culture

Alas, the day had to dawn when the ordinary took on the VIP physically and did not let Rehman Malik and another MNA board the plane which had been delayed for more than two hours allegedly due to the late arrival of the VIPs. Not keeping time seems to be part of our VIP culture.  The more important a VIP the more late he arrives for the occasion.  Why don’t they try to behave modestly and care more for others than their own beings? Don’t they have any feelings for the ordinary who are made to wait for hours at times due to the VIP movement – be it by road, train or plane?  For how long the ordinary will suffer such agonies in silence. It is high time that the VIPs showed some consideration for the ordinary too. David Cameroon the British Prime Minister stood leaning near the train door and read his news paper while travelling to his office in the tube when he could not find a place to sit.  It has in no way lowered his status but on the! contrary enhanced his public image in the eyes of the ordinary Britons. I wish our rulers too learnt something from such world leaders and that it is not a cavalcade of 30 vehicles in front and rear of them tooting their horns and blowing their sirens that people admire but in fact they look down upon their such ostentation .
