Our Officer Cadre

Only a few days ago it was the Secretary Finance Baluchistan with crores of ill gotten money stashed in the wardrobes of his bedroom and now are reportedly a Director Foreign Affairs and an Assistant Director NAB arrested for similar corruption. Does anyone know of a single clean and honest department in this land of the pure?  If there is one, kindly let us know.

Where are the honest officers, the officers with integrity and character?  One is ashamed to call such secretaries and directors as officers, for, if they are the ones then they are certainly come from a very low stock.  How can they face their own siblings with their such disgraceful actions. Such character failings do not imbue in a person overnight. These are there from the day they join the service. In fact they join the service to make money there.  Why can’t such dishonest and men of shallow character be detected by their superiors during the very early stages of their carrier and taken care off?  How can they be allowed to rise to such high grades, unless they were in cahoots with their then superior reporting officers, who as such by default look also to be corrupt.

It was high time we overhauled our bureaucracy and the bureaucratic system to get rid of the corrupt and dishonest officers. One way that could be is to subject them to psychological tests to evaluate their strong and weak character traits.
