Yom-e-Tashakkur- e-Pakistan & Lailatul Qadr

Anwar Ul Haque

Pakistan was born in the most blessed night of Holly Ramadan. It was the 27th Night which according to many scholars is the Lailatul Qadr. It was the night of Friday as well. This was not mere coincidence. The pagans considered this night very "Manhoos" for them so they delayed their independence for one day. Although Pakistan and India were born as division of one Indo-Pakistan and logically both countries should have had the same day of Independence but for the stated reason, it is not the case.

There is no concept of Jashn in Islam; it is a Hindu ritual. The biggest historical conquest is the conquest of Makkah but did the Prophet (PBUH) and his companions made Jashn? No! They thanked Allah in utmost humility.

To gain freedom is easy but to retain it is the difficult task. Already due to our wrong habits, behavior and policies we have lost one half of the country with mist humiliated defeats of Muslim history. Instead of learning lessons from our mistakes we complete hided the Hamoodur Rehman report which so painstakingly was made and would have guided us. If we had followed that report in letter and spirit we would not have been in this crisis today.

Are we free today? Yes and no! To some extent we are free but as a nation we have acquired slavery of the so called big and hostile forces. When we are having drone attacks by Global Terrorists and we are supporting Kuffars in killing Muslims, we can't call ourselves "free". Mere anthem and flag do not make nations free.

The Lawyers and Civil society movement after a big NO of Justice Iftikhar Chaudhary there is sliver lining on the horizons. Our sister Dr. Aafia Siddiqui and her three young children; Ahmad, Maryam and Salman are terrorized and brutalized in the worst form by the same very forces and people who committed world's biggest one day acts of terrorism i.e. Hiroshima and Nagasaki! But what about our own missing people. Why Government is not brining them in the courts and subject to free and fair trials. Not to do so is a serious violation of constitution. So when you yourself break laws, why you expect others to obey law? Mere reading of written speeches makes no sense at all!

Let us hold tightly the rope of Allah i.e. Quran; for thanking which we are about to observe fasts. We are thanking Allah for his guidance i.e. Quran and but we are not prepared to follow the guidance. How strange it is. The lilatul Qadr is better than 1000 months. What with Quran can be achieved in one night can not be obtained without it in 1000 months. Quran is a living miracle and believe me we need a miracle to cure this nation. So observe lailatul Qadr as night of repentance and thanks for Quran and Pakistan and hold firmly Quran i.e. love it, understand it, follow it and teach others. Once we become alive with the sprit of Quran, no body will be able to keep us restraining and enslaving us.
