Tickers on different news channels were running fast at the bottom of the television screen. It was the evening before the next batch of Wikileaks were due for publication. I made sure to buy The Guardian - one of five newspapers publishing the documents. With remote control in hand, I was browsing through Sky News, BBC, CNN, Al-Jazeera and Press TV. In a TV talk show hosted by Dr Shahid Masood; an apparent difference emerged between Zaid Hamid and Dr Farzana Bari on Iqbal when the former spoke of him as Wali without using the actual term, and the latter as Philosopher without using the actual word. They were both right in their understanding of Iqbaliat and those who watched them must have enjoyed the discussion without prejudice to either.

An important political personality and a vital issue were missing during and in the PM's broadcast respectively; the CM of Punjab from the dais; and reference to NRO in his address. The former represents the biggest opposition party; the latter is the actual reason which has created a rift between the judiciary and the executive and widened the gap

It looks like, the wise judiciary saved the unwise government from constitutional crises by taking a pre-emptive step on presumptive action allegedly suggested by the legal gurus around the President. The PM should open his eyes and realise that being the constitutional chief executive after the 18th amendment, it would have been his neck on the block, as the action would have been a treasonable
