A protest rally against Israel's massacre of innocent people of Gaza was organized by ISO (Imamia Students Organization) today. As the rally started to move toward the US-Consulate it was brutally baton-charged and tear-gassed by the Police.
What a fantastic show by the government!! !!! Remember this is the same government who says it's the true representative of the sentiments people of the people of Pakistan. But today's event is a clear signal that this government is HAPPY with what is going on in Gaza. Why? Because the TRUE SENTIMENT of the people of the country is "DOWN WITH US IMPERIALISM" , "DOWN WITH ISRAEL", "DOWN WITH ZIONISM", "AMERICA KA JO YAAR HAI, GHADAR HAI!!! GHADAR HAI!!!" (Whoever is a friend of America is a traitor).
Ask anyone from the general public, they hate and loathe what is going on in Gaza and also knows that the US is behind it.
The rally that was tear-gassed and baton-charged today was totally a student protest. They were all students. They did not have guns or explosives strapped to their chests. They were students.
We should not be divided along the lines that ISO is a SHIA organisation. It is basically a students organisation. The issue is a joint fight against the injustices of rulers. Let us not be divided along petty lines. Anybody who came to the Massively-Successfu l protest on Saturday will tell you that a big number of people in the protest were young students. Students today are becoming increasingly anti-American and anti-Imperialist. The government does not want a Students movement (which is the need of the hour) opposing its Imperialist Agenda. ISO are students, Majority people in Citizens against War are also students (Check their Facebook Page and you will know).
I hereby condemn what happened today with the harshest words and urge my friends in the CITIZENS AGAINST WAR to call a meeting TOMORROW (Monday) to condemn such actions of the government and to ORGANIZE AN EVEN LARGER MEETING FOR THE SUPPORT OF GAZA, so that the government knows what REALLY IS THE TRUE SENTIMENT AND FEELING OF THE PEOPLE.
