Does our PM know what has he said?
Regarding the collection and distribution of funds, Prime Minister Gilani said “let me categorically assure everyone that there shall be no discrimination in distribution of the available resources.” He said every penny received and each item collected would be distributed to the provinces, by the Federal Government, in a most transparent just and equitable manner. “
The above quotation from Prime Minister itself proves in unequivocal terms that the nation has lost confidence in him and his government and Pakistanis therefore very strongly believe that the total money so collected will not be given to the needy rather some of it will be plundered and pocketed by our top brass. How come our Prime Minister had to give an assurance? Isn’t it shameful on our part to even think alike? Why did it strike to us that there could be some hanky panky in funds? Which other nation also thinks alike?
Needless to mention, many people belonging to different walks of life had casted their doubts and apprehensions about embezzlement of both cash and kind even before the aids were received either from within Pakistan and or overseas. It is very comp unctuously written that from day one till now, bulk majority of our leaders have minted money as and when they got the chance and resultantly the very integrity of our all leaders without any exception is doubted and, one way or the other, most of them have not proved bona fide in any case. No leader, not even one, has admitted to have swallowed whatever he / she could during his / her tenure but eventually each one of them have been exposed either on time or after despite the fact that they have been very loudly saying at pitch of their voice that that their hands are clean. Whom to believe, when and how is the most taxing and intriguing question so far as our leaders are concerned which include both either popularly elected and or imposed upon?
The worst part of our national tragedy and episode is that many of our leaders who had been proved to have pocketed with both hands have again been inducted into power meaning by that either there is a dearth of our leaders or we are regularizing their previous misappropriations. Both the situations, whatever applicable, are most deplorable and unless until we take complete u turn from the given situation, I very much doubt our plight will change.
Presently, when quite a sufficient aid has already come, it has been reported in the press through different quarters and sources that in some cases aid has been given to even those who were not affected by floods meaning by they did not deserve the aid but yet they have been gifted. Of course, there are those who have queued up to receive the aid but they are still waiting for the sun to shine on them. Is this the judicious approach of those who are at the helm of the affairs? Will all of those who have been uprooted get the compensation, too meager compensation, any time during their life period, if I am not blunt? Most of those who are already in tents and camps may not go back to their houses for another few weeks if not months hence it is very much demanded that they should not be left high and dry any further.
It is the principal duty of the Prime Minister in particular and the President in general that the marooned compatriots must be treated alike and humanly but without any further delay to prove that on one hand our worthy leaders do realize the pathetic conditions of the people and on the other hand they are truthful to their words. But, God forbid, if they still keep themselves aloof of the people who are natural calamity stricken then when they will rise to the occasion can be answered by them and them alone?
