Today I am very happy with gen musharraf, nay Gen Musharraf. I am happy because he, or on his instance his henchmen, has said that, his government has hoodwinked Pakistan Peoples Party into a deal to get political benefit, and it was a success. I am happy that, PPP which thinks itself of having mastery in politicking, whose chairperson, the Geat Mohtarama, thinks herself to be the shrewdest of politicians of all time (though she was a utter failure in delivering, in administration, as was proven in her two stint of rule), is quite beautifully caught off guard. In deal/no deal 'talkshawk' all around, the Great Mohtarama had all sorts of logic up her sleeves, and her croonies, every one in PPP, as very accomplished spin masters, has quite effectively been providing justifications of every move of the Mohtarama without any shame, and quite effectively pushing the media people, the questioners on to back foot. Now the gorgeous, Harvard-graduate Muhtarama and her party's spin masters are left to eat humble pies. But I know she won't only be eating the pie, but secretly would be licking the feet and boots of 'Amriki karta-dharta' to bring her out from this shameful morass the artistic general has put her into.
PPP, to restore some of its face, and other 'tajzianigars' must also be blaming the geberal for putting the boot into his mouth, for going back to the words, which have been put to the so-called cabinet of out-of-the-shelf, show-piece prime minister for so-called approval. But she should have kept in mind that, that was not first time for the general to go back to his words. Earlier he gave the understanding to MMA that he would leave the army position (popularly known as "wardi utarna") by certain specific date, and created a loopwhole in the Constitution (so nobody now knows, for how long this man, the type of which comes in this earth once in many centuries, would and could remain as president in uniform according to the Constitution) , people say with the help of MMA. After that avowed date he created a 'bahana' and remained in the presidency, in the uniform, and left his benefactor, the MMA, to lick their wounds, and to face the public wrangling (if there was any, I don't know).
According to news reports, PPP was alive to the general's gimmickry of going back to his words for of course greater interest of the poor 'nation', and it hedged its position by involving American, British and Saudi Government in its secret talks, securing their surety for the 'deal', or 'national reconciliation' , or whatever.
Anyway, dumping of MMA, and now tricking off PPP, should not come as surprise to anybody, because these have come from a person who is a general, and also who is of Indian origin (both are very important). The "chanakya" philosophy must be in his blood. And see the unbridled and unquestioned support of MQM for this general, and general only!! MQM is totally against Pakistan Army. But to keep this general in presidency and uniform, MQM won't mind to go to any extent.
