Chairman of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari called on Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah at the Chief Minister House here on Wednesday and both discussed the matters relating to PPP Sindh, development projects of the province and progress regarding rehabilitation of flood affected people. Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah informed the Party Chairman that the Annual Development Programme of province is Rs.111 billion and pace of development process has been accelerated. Don’t trample official decorum.
This is more shameful than annoying to see that our leaders have even forgotten the basic official and ethical principles and I wish that the defaulters must be punished quite suitably. The news that Chairman Pakistan People’s Party Bilawal Bhutto Zaradri called on Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah in Karachi at Chief Minister House and discussed various subjects relating to political atmosphere of Pakistan in general and Sindh in particular of no consequence so far as the blunder and the lapse is concerned.
I am referring to the photograph flashed today Thursday 1st March, 2012 in Nation, Lahore under the title, ‘Bilawal meets Chief Minister Sindh’ and though there is nothing wrong with the title or the contents of the news but the photograph itself is highly objectionable and demands immediate and very strict punitive action against both of them though to me CM is more at fault than Bilawal. The photo shows that PPP’s flag is next to CM whereas Pakistan flag is next to Bilawal but how and why? Syed Qaim Ali Shah is Chief Minister of Sindh and hence he enjoys an inborn prerogative to carry national flag of Pakistan and therefore he should be sitting next to our national flag and not otherwise and likewise Bilawal being Chairman of PPP must have had his party’s flag near to him but regretfully the ground reality was other way round. Such breach of law particularly on the part of the CM can neither be pocketed nor ignored. Syed may have tried to over please President Zardari who is not only the father of Bilawal but also his top boss and it goes without saying that Shah can continue as Chief Minister till the President patronizes him but this does not allow him hand over our national flag to Bilawal. I must say at the pitch of my voice that the expression to err is human does not apply over here in this case.
Was it for the very 1st time in the life of Syed Qaim Ali Shah to sit by national flag? Had he not learnt such a simple and official rule till now? Had he not been a national flag carrier before too? Is he devoid of sheer simple common sense? Was he blind at that time and could not see where Pakistani flag is?
What exemplary punitive punishment does he deserve other than removal from Chief Minister Office, isn’t it?
