Is Supreme Court’s writ being challenged?
Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan defending PM Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani in contempt of court case filed by Supreme Court of Pakistan has very loudly and publicly said that he client (PM) will not write letter to Swiss authorities against his boss Asif Ali Zardari, President of Pakistan in connection with public loot money so deposited by him in Swiss banks. It is worth mentioning that S C has ordered PM to write the letter but he has neither written earlier nor writing now and will not write in future as well.
Our former ambassador in USA Hussain Haqqani who is one of the main witnesses in Memogate scandal has been asked by none but Supreme Court of Pakistan to return to Pakistan and appear before the Judicial Tribunal to get his statement recorded in the memogate scandal but the former diplomat has totally refused to come to Pakistan. He has submitted an application saying he is undergoing some medical checkups so he cannot come. On the face of it looks like that he will gain maximum possible time to delay the case which may eventually meet its own death. The tribunal which had to finish the investigation within the stipulated period of time has been given six months extension by SC to complete the task but in the given circumstances it is presumed that Haqqani is not going to return and appear before the judicial tribunal.
On one hand PM is not honoring what SC has asked for and on the other hand former diplomat too negating the orders of the SC so what could be in store for both of them.
Aren’t the two liable to prosecution? Aren’t both defying and undermining SC?

PM will not write letter to Swiss Authorities: Ahsan
GARHI KHUDA BAKHSH: Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan on Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s death anniversary has said that he had consulted with the Indian intellectuals and had confirmed that President Asif Ali Zardari has international immunity, DawnNews reported.
Moreover, he said that Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani will not write a letter to Swiss authorities.
Addressing the ceremony of Bhutto’s death anniversary at Garhi Khuda Bakhsh, Ahsan said that every year supporters of Z A Bhutto come to Bhutto’s mausoleum to share their grief and they leave with innovative thoughts.
He said that founder of Pakistan People’s Party had provide employment and protection to the people of Pakistan. He also said that when the next budget is announced world will see that how we will change the situation of Pakistan.
Ahsan said, “Other countries don’t spare even a single citizen of their country but unfortunately, Pakistan is the only nation which is ready to handover its president to the Swiss cases.”
Moreover he criticised media and said that media should tell their reporters to say right and true news stories.
Haqqani refuses to appear before Comm
ISLAMABAD: Former Pakistani envoy to US, Husain Haqqani has refused to appear before memo commission Thursday on health grounds, Geo News reported.
According to the sources, Haqqani has filed plea in the Memo Commission in this regard.
Earlier, former ambassador had denied allegations leveled against him by Mansoor Ijaz in a statement submitted to the memo commission.
However Haqqani did admit to having a conversation with Mansoor Ijaz in May 2011, but claimed that the discussions during their conversation were different from what Ijaz had described.
On march 29, a 10-member special bench of the Supreme Court had extended the term of Memo Commission for six weeks.
The bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry heard the petition filed by former ambassador Husain Haqqani seeking video link facility for recording his statement abroad and the request by the commission to extend the deadline.
The bench retained its previous order of summoning Husain Haqani on a four-day notice and accepted the former ambassador's plea of keeping his letter to the CJ secret till the next hearing.
The court said the Registrar Office received the letter from Haqqani on March 28.
