Why Bush Congratulated Musharraf

President Bush has recently "congratulated" Mr. Musharraf on his "re-election. I am really amazed how Bush has accepted Musharraf's election as kosher! Why Bush himself does not accept the same very criteria for American Presidential Elections? He should then on the basis of elections results of 2004 declare Republican hopeful   the winner of 2008 elections!

The fact is that Musharraf's so called Presidential Elections defy the very definition of word "Election" as described in such authentic reference sources as Encyclopedia Britannica and WIKI PEDIA. 160 million Pakistanis were kept totally out of these so called elections. Even if 100% people were against Musharraf, they could not remove him as the so called Presidential Elections of Musharraf were based on the people's voting of 2002 and not of 2007. These elections also deprived people of holding accountability of the rulers over their past performance which is an essential ingredient of the elections. Musharraf could have also elected the Prime Minister from the same old dying assemblies too!

As Musharraf knew that he would badly loose in debates over his performance over last 5 years, no time was given to other candidates to even contact the voters. Contacting voters and having public debates is another essential aspect of elections which was totally missing unlike USA politics where ample time is given for this purpose. It is amazing that so called champions of democracy and human rights shamelessly support the sham and fraud democracy i.e. dictators in the garment of democracy in other countries.

I along with some others had personally challenged this fraudulent procedure and process of election in the Supreme Court (Petition # 84/2007). When Musharraf saw that the Honorable Apex Court will give a clear verdict against him and will not let him cheat people, he through shear abuse of state resources and army machine arrested over 60 Honorable Judges and then appointed hand picked "judges" to get the decision of his choice. Bush congratulation to Musharraf means seconding and supporting all these illegal and inhuman acts of Musharraf. Bush should be ashamed of himself. I request common American people to hold Bush accountable for his total insane, nonsense and criminal acts.
