Cases against Sharif brothers
NAB in hand has three cases against Sharif brothers pertaining to Hudaibia Paper mills; Ittefaq Foundry and Raiwind Farms and yesterday in Rawalpindi an accountability court hearing the cases has quite surprisingly fixed 6th and 15th September to hear the cases of Hudaibia and Ittefaq respectively which is not logical from justice point of view. These cases were initiated some years ago but one way or the other nothing could be decided as yet and it was expected that since NAB has again taken them up again they would be disposed off speedily but it did not happen so. Needless to mention, as and when big corruption case comes up it is usually dragged up for years and years whereby the so called elite accused get ample time to twist and brush off the allegations and get away on account of benefit of doubt and or lack of evidence whereas on the other hand any poor involved in petty corruption is straight away out behind the bars.
What could be the rationale, if any, not to hear these cases in early August than mid September? Isn’t delay justice is injustice? Don’t we have double standard?
