Shame itself feels ashamed to be honest

Yesterday Thursday 10^th January, 2013 was one of the bloodiest day in recent months in Pakistan when as many as 130 innocent people were killed in Quetta, Swat and Karachi and therefore the whole nation literally sobbed and was shocked to death but on the same day President Zaradari hosted dinner for political leaders in Karachi is at least bowed my head in shame and I wonder how people like PM Raja, Ch Shujaat Hussain, Asfand Yar Wali, Dr Farooq Sattar, Shahi Syed, Babar Khan Ghauri, Munir Khan Aurakzai,  Abbas Khan Afridi and Faryal Talpur etc could eat the dinner unless they have stone and not heart with them.

Let me just quote a very explicit and narrative example in support of my argument. Just few weeks back only about 20 school children were gunned down in a primary school in USA and in response to the saddest possible incident President Husain Barrak Obama not only ordered that US flag will fly at half mast in respect of the innocent lives lost in the brutal killing but also on the top of it President while addressing a crowded press conference had tears in his eyes and his voice choked when he talked about the children so brutally killed in his country. Wasn’t there a loud, blaring, deafening and ear-piercing message from US president to our most respected president to learn from him as to what should head of state is to do when some unfortunate tragedy like this happens in his country? Barrak Obama being president of the most powerful country on the face of earth has proved publicly and clamorously that he also has a heart since he is a human exactly like any other human for that matter and thus despite his all out efforts to control he simply failed and could not help tears to flow out of his eye and as a result in just one stroke he has won the hearts of each and every US citizen.

The most striking thing is that all those who attended the dinner hosted by the president Zardari at Bilawal House are none but certified representatives of the people because each one of them was either MNA, Senator and or MPA and hence it was an obligation on their part to look after those who voted for them which itself demanded that they should have visited Quetta where 101 were killed or to Swat where 24 had died or even Karachi where 5 people were gunned down but nothing doing. The simplest courtesy demanded that the president should have told all those who were to dine with him that due to so much killing on innocent lives on the day the dinner is cancelled and instead fateha khawani is arranged to offer our prayers for those who unfortunately lost their lives but our Aristotles and Platos serving with president Zardari opined that it had been nothing short of committal of sin if dinner was substituted by fateha. The least had been that at least one and one only if not two or three for that matter at the most had regretted to attend the dinner but it had been construed highly immoral on the part of anyone to refuse to the dinner so not even a single walked off without enjoying the dinner.

I dare to suggest individually to each one of those who ate the dinner to just put a hand on your heart and think deeply as to what have you done if one of your own blood was one of those who is killed on the day? Had you still eaten the dinner at Bilawal House? I do understand that none of your blood is killed but nevertheless do not forget at all and I repeat do not forget at all that you have been elevated and bestowed with prominence and respect in the society of Pakistan because people have voted for you so the question is if you do not remember your voter and that too at the time of his death then when will you remember if at all you remember? None should forget even for a fraction of a second that it is a divine law from the day when 1^st human was born that all those who are born shall eventually die including even those who dined at Bilawal House.
