No 2 remains no 2
As per international ranking which I just checked at net South African captain A.B. De Villiers is ranked at number 2 be it Test or ODI and this what he has proved in quite crystal clear terms without any shadow of doubt. It will be quite futile to quote as to how much he scored in the current Test & ODI series against us but the fact remains that he has played captain innings in both formats. Just see what happened today at 4th ODI when South African had lost 2 wickets that of both Amla and Ingram with nil score of the team as Irfan had sent them both scoreless. As a matter of fact it needs very strong nerves to face such a daunting and challenging task and that too before the home crowd but Captain AB De Villiers who came in under the worst possible situation and he very safely played the 3rd ball of Irfan depriving him of hitting a hat-trick. Villiers magnificently played under the oddest conditions and scored 75 runs which are the highest individual score of any South African in the innings.
He has very rightly and proudly proved again to be number two batsman on the face of earth at this point of time.
