IqbalHadi
Zaidi, former Pakistani diplomat called upon Maj Gen Abdulfattah Abdulmohsin Al
Ali, Assistant Under Secretary, Traffic Affairs, Ministry of Interior in his
office on Wednesday 19th
March, 2014 where he was warmly welcomed by general. Iqbal wrote a poem
captioned ‘Extension Greetings’ which he framed and presented to general as he
has been given 2 years extension in service. Gen whole heartedly thanked Iqbal for
his beautiful narrative poetic composition. Iqbal during the meeting applauded
the tremendous efforts general has put in combating traffic offences which in
turn have very significantly reduced accidents percentage over the last many
months. He went on to say that since general is himself supervising the strict
implementation of traffic rules there has been considerable improvement on the
behavior of those who are driving on roads which consequently on one hand have
saved many precious human lives and on the other hand material loss too has
been minimized. He fully supported general so far as strictly applying the
traffic rules is concerned and punishing those who do not care for the rules
and do whatever pleases them without caring the least for others. He recalled
that some years back it was reported in the press that rate of deaths on road
was maximum in the world which earned a black spot for Kuwait but thanks Allah
it is not so any more. He particularly mentioned about stunts played by some
careless youth endangering not only their own lives but of others as well.
Crossing red signal which regretfully is awfully the most dangerous violation
to be honest had been too often reported earlier but ever since general has
taken personal interest in strictly applying the traffic rules without caring
the least as to who comes under the hammer a very noticeable decrease has been
reported and now not many have dared to cross the red signal which is a very
healthy and encouraging sign. Pakistani wondered as to why all those who drive
on roads do not follow the traffic instructions which have been framed to
protect human lives and vehicles alike and he fully agree and support general
to continue putting his efforts with the same zeal and zest keep so that both
citizens and expatriates are not afraid to drive in Kuwait. Iqbal before
leaving the office prayed to Allah for long life and happiness of Gen
Abdulfattah who thanked again Iqbal for his sweet words.
