Now media websites are also under threat in Pakistan

Curb on free speech is a continuation of dictatorship

Peoples Party is a fascist group of beneficiaries and thugs, its whole top leadership is consists of international femme thugs, looters and plunderers. Zardari mafia is continuously busy to control free speech, journalists are under threat and media is running under strict government control. Zardari has no footings because current Army Chief has pardoned his all crimes including murders and money laundering. He is afraid of judiciary and media, Chief Justice of Pakistan is sitting at home. Those are pushing a failed government with the help of army generals, police, and Para-military forces and agencies. War on terror is a gift for all thugs to suck money from western countries.

Condition is so serious that top bodies are under direct control of Government:

  1. Largest group APNS (All Pakistan Newspapers Society) is under control of Hameed Haroon, whose brother Abdullah Hussain Haroon has been appointed as ambassador to United Nations. Both brothers are among top aides of Zardari mafia with imported Irani mother.
  2. Second largest group PFUJ (Pakistan Federation of journalists) its General Secretary Mazhar Abbas is brother of Director General ISPR (army General). Two other brothers of Mazhar Abbas are working as Editors at "daily Dawn and Dawn TV channel" which is owned by above Hameed Haroon.
  3. Third group is owned by Salman Taseer, Governor Punjab, consists of "Daily Times, Friday Times, Aaj Kal and Business TV". And Najam Sethi edits them who are also close associate of Zardari mafia.
  4. In other TV channels Government advisors are working to control outflow i.e. ARY TV channel has Javed Malik and P J Mir both cronies of Zardari.

There is no life of true journalists in Pakistan which are continuously under threat, recently when world renowned journalist Shaheen Sehbai raised finger against Zardari mafia then paid agents of Government in media started personal attacks on Mr. Shaheen Sehbai, For example one so called journalist Asif Iqbal who works for Daily Nawai e Waqt and known mole of Zardari started his character assassination. Same as Dr. Shahid Masood, Mr. Ansar Abbasi of Daily News and Geo TV are under continuous threat and harassment for chalking out Government corruption. On other side in ARY TV channel Mr. Kashif Abbasi is under threat because he is the only anchor who bravely chalks out corruption of Zardari mafia.

Ministry of interior has developed a special cell to control free speech and unknown agencies are continuously trying to dictate web owners, and Minister of Information is as corrupt as Zardari and large amounts are being used to divide journalists. She is behind removal of Dr. Shahid Masood, Chairman PTV.

International journalists associations have already taken up cases of Pakistani journalists, and those are requested that curb on independent websites and free speech in Pakistan may also be included in their agenda. Particularly following websites are under threat from different sources with falls allegation of anti-Pakistan:

  1. Dictatorship Watch
  2. Let us make Pakistan better.

It is funny situation that Pakistan's ambassadors at Washington and New York are also pawns of corrupt Zardari mafia.

Dictatorship Watch completely blocked in Pakistan

Contrary to the few urls given in the Pakistani government notification (PTA orders blockade of political webpages, discussion forums ) DictatorshipWatch has been completely blocked in Pakistan. Governor Salman Taseer and his editor Najam Sethi were used as tools and an excuse. The real people who felt hurt because of this site were Rehman Malik, Hussain Haqqani, Zardari and company.

It seems uselless to suggest to someone who cann't access the site. However, the site can be accessed through http://hiddenpath.info/ . It only requires pasting url to DW on the address bar provided on the this site and clicking the browse button.

 PTA orders blockade of political

Friday, January 02, 2009, By By Urooj Zia, Karachi

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) issued directives in the last week of December to Internet Service Providers (ISPs), ordering them to block a list of six webpages on the grounds that they were "harmful for the integrity of the country."

The directive came on the orders of the Inter-Ministerial Committee (IMC) for the Evaluation of Websites. The IMC constitutes representatives of the Ministry of IT, PTA, Ministry of Interior and Cabinet Division. Its charter is to monitor and block blasphemous, pornographic, and anti-state or anti-Pakistan sites.

Three of the six webpages on the list issued by the PTA, however, are from www.dictatorshipwatch.com, a website set up after November 3, 2007, when then-President Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf implemented a state of emergency in the country. One webpage is from www.makepakistanbetter.com, a social and political discussion forum. The fifth page is from www.friendskorner.com , a general discussion forum, while the sixth webpage is a node from www.buzzvines.com. Most of the blocked webpages contained articles which claimed to provide information about Punjab Governor Salman Taseer's "history"; others had pictures of members of Taseer's family at lavish parties thrown recently at the Punjab Governor House.

None had blasphemous material, or anything which could even remotely be construed as "anti-Pakistan," unless criticism of one person is considered an act of treason. The PTA circular, issued on December 26 by Enforcement Coordination Director Yawar Yasin, however, called for the immediate blockage of these pages. An email was sent out on December 29 to ISPs by Muhammad Shafiq, PTA Zonal Director (Enforcement) at the Authority's Rawalpindi zonal office. The ISPs in question were directed to comply with these orders immediately and send a report to Shafiq by 3 pm the same day.

Meanwhile, the move to block political websites and webpages has been lambasted by ISPs as well as internet users, many of whom have, on various online discussion forums, compared this act with those under the military dictatorship of Gen (retd) Musharraf.

"While these webpages have been classified as "˜harmful for the integrity of the country,' I don't believe this is the correct classification. PTA as a regulator should not be involved in pushing or blocking political agendas and should clearly rise above political party favours and bias," the CEO of a Lahore-based ISP said. "We feel that the criteria of blocking should be clearly defined and should not side with any political party."

"This is a very repressive step and ISPAK condemns this act," Micronet Broadband CEO and Internet Service Providers Association of Pakistan (ISPAK) convener Wahaj us Siraj told The News. "The IMC has no mandate to block political web sites. The PTA apparently has less say in it and just conveyed the directive of the IMC to the ISPs."

I never found any of even most famous porno graphic sites or blasphemous sites banned by government order. This is ridiculous.
Government is putting all his strength, power and resources to achieve political goals instead of making Pakistan better or solving problems of Pakistani people.
But by blocking the pages showing Salman Taseer's family, Government has admitted that the acts shown in those pictures are bad.
