No goverment would want political instability:
Sherry Rehman
Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Ms Sherry Rehman has said that the Federal Government t has nothing to do with the courts decision. But we commiserate with Sharif brothers. This is not what we would have sought according to our National Reconciliation Policy. We always offered them their due share in govt as per mandate, she added.
Talking to a private television channel the Minister said that PPP is a democratic party and does not believe in the politics of victimization. She regretted that the PML-N leadership has launched a vitriolic campaign against the PPP co-chairperson singling him out, when everyone knows that it was he who had continued the politics of reconciliation after Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto,s martyrdom.
In politics the differences are settled through negotiation rather than levelling allegations against each other, the Minister said.
She said that doors of PPP leadership are open for the PML-N leadership because the party believes in negotiated settlement of all issues..
Ms Rehman said that PPP stands for wider national consensus to put the country on right path adding that the recent unopposed election of senators from various provinces is a vivid example in this regard.
She was of the opinion that the SC decision was reviewable but it depends on the PML-N leadership.
To a question, she said the governor rule in Punjab was imposed in line with constitution to run the governance affairs.
She said that province cannot be left in vacuum without administration adding the governor rule was imposed under this condition for a specific period..
The Minister said that PPP would not block the way of any political party to make a chief minister of its choice in Punjab if it has the backing of majority.
She said that country was facing a number of challenges and the PPP led coalition government would never like to create law and order situation. It is unwise to assume that PPP leadership has any linkage with the Court decision, she added.
