What will be his 1^st suo moto?

At this point of time when Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani has announced that upon the retirement of the present Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar on 21^st March, Justice Iftikhar Ahmad Chaudhry will take over as CJP from 22^nd March, my only question is as to what will be his 1^st suo moto-an inborn right vested in him as CJP.

It will be futile on my part to dig out as to why, in the first instance, Justice Iftikhar was laid off or, for that matter, how he has been reinstated but nevertheless ever since he had been too frequently taking up many cases and issues purely on his own initiative, it is but natural to ask him how he would react when he is being re-crowned after great hussle, humiliation and struggle.

He himself knows better as to whom he will tackle first but as an ordinary citizen I opine that there could be more than one person to be bracketed and, academically speaking, it will not be that easy for him to pick and choose from a long list including both VVIPs and otherwise. I have neither any capacity nor authority, both specific and implied, to hint out as to who are those who are to be commended and decorated for all that happened during last long months and I am  too waiting for, like you and others, to see as to who goes to …  first?
