Running from one F to another F

Former President Gen ® Pervez Musharraf and Lt Gen ® Shahid Aziz once were known to be very thick and thin and that too for quite many long years which must be appreciated to be honest but very much surprisingly and regretfully for quite some time they are no more the same frequency and the sweet love and beloved respect between them has turned and replaced by bitter enmity and ferocious hatred whereby the friends have turned out as foes instead.

Gen Aziz had many important positions both in army (Corps Commander, Lahore) and outside army (Chairman, National Accountability Bureau) and therefore he is a known figure so far as Pakistan is concerned but one way or the other for quite some time he has stood up much against former president Musharraf who in turn has quite naturally also hurled back at Aziz. The controversy started about Kargil operation where Aziz accused his previous boss to be misguiding the nation on Kargil and not telling the hard truth about it whereas Musharraf defends his action and hits back at Aziz saying that he is twisting the facts and trying to become hero and nullify whatever laurels and credit Musharraf has earned in that conflict. I need not dip and dig deep as to who is right or who is wrong or what Pakistan gained or what India lost on Kargil but the hard fact is that two should stop accusing each other which is leading us to nowhere except that we as a nation are creating confusion and mocking at our own self. Enough is enough as this bitterness has been already widely circulated and publicized in newspapers and television channels without any tangible results except it pleases only those who enjoy seeing the two being pitched against each other. Needless to mention, Kargil conflict relates to army conflict and therefore I am afraid that if it continues and flares up any further then there is a possibility that some confidential and sensitive information about the military conflict may be leaked out by someone to downgrade the opponent which eventually could be very much detrimental to our national interests if both of them and others realize. Personal enmity, if at all any, between the two should not take edge over national interests of Pakistan under all circumstances whatsoever.

It is really very ironical that one way or the other it has become our national characteristic that most of us do not open their mouth at the right time but after many long years but why and how is really not understandable. If at all they think that something is wrong somewhere then they have an inborn right to object and should stand up at the time when wrong is being committed or noticed so that the remedial actions be taken to put it right forthwith but when it is talked so late then nothing can be done. Incidentally we have read so many accusations from different persons and quarters on many subjects which gains momentum only after it had happened which is very sad to be honest. In case of Kargil if Lt Gen Aziz had realized that his boss Gen Pervez Musharraf, Army Chief then was wrong so far as this conflict is concerned then he should not have proved as coward and instead he should have gathered enough courage to face his boss but at that time instead of keeping mum and now after such a long gap in between he has turned deadly against Musharraf. Moreover Musharraf was not on the front line in Kargil rather someone else was facing the brunt but why Aziz is not talking about others and just vomiting against Musharraf which looks funny. I really wonder why such like episodes crop up one after another in developing and under developed countries only and not in developed countries. Moreover, what can be done now as it happened many years ago? How can it be undone what has already been done?
