Bravo! You responded to your moral conscious

There are some people, though very rare in my beloved Pakistan whom I must appreciate since they have reacted not because they have been commanded so but on the contra came out at their own since their moral conscious pricked and this is what matters the most to be honest. As a matter of fact a truly civilized person is the one who acts as per the standardized principles of morality and social norms and such like principles are followed in western world but regretfully the same are ignored in eastern world including Pakistan.

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) led by incumbent President Asif Ali Zardari has ruled the country for complete 5 years but it miserably failed in delivering what it ought to deliver and the result is that it did not get enough seats in National Assembly to pick up Prime Minister and form cabinet which is killing and not shocking to be honest. What puzzles me the most is that how and why PPP did not realize as to what hell the public is facing at their hands on many different counts and though time and again people have vented their anger in public asking for relief but PPP did not care even a bit and the result is that now when the same public had to vote they rejected the rulers and instead voted for their cut throat competitors. It is very long list as to what people have been complaining and it will be futile to enumerate them all but to limit to just a few only.

The most taxing problem of all the problems had been failure of electricity whereby people were without it for many long years on daily basis and that too for many hours which sometime extended to more than 12 hours at some places but the government did not care at all. Right from president to minister promises have been made to reduce load shedding but all proved to be nothing but false and people did not get any relief whatsoever on this count. Life too had been at risk and people have been killed at will throughout the country in general and Karachi is particular and none could be sure if he or she will come back to his or house or not. High level meetings chaired by president, prime minister, governor, chief minister and minister etc have been held to combat human killing but result had been zero. Time and again high powered commissions and investigation committees had been formed to control it but still nothing could be achieved. Most of those who killed are still at large even though police had the services of rangers as well to control killing. Hundred of households have been marooned simply because their sole bread earners have been killed. Prices of daily use commodities have been multiplied and it was impossible for an ordinary daily wage earner to eat three meals a day which is minimum human requirement and it could have been controlled if the rulers wanted. Government had lot of money to spend on the rulers is the name of good governance which is criminal waste of public exchequer and had that money been spent on subsidizing daily use items people lives had been at ease but who cared alike. Medical facilities were almost none existing as people had to buy medicines at their own though public hospitals and clinics are to supply the doctors’ prescribed medicines free of charge. Education was also denied to general public as government schools teachers did not teach with enthusiasm which resulted that people had to pull out their children to sit at their home unless they could afford to send their children to private schools. Unemployment had touched the peak and people even resorted to committing suicide and self immolation but none from the power corridor had been moved whatsoever.

Very important personalities enjoying very good entity and prominence that had been with PPP came out of its clout and took personal initiative to publicly renounce to continue to be with PPP anymore which is very much commendable action though too late to mend ways. My most respected teacher Senator Barrister Aitzaz Hussain who taught me law during 1966-68 at Punjab University Law College, Lahore resigned from Senate since his wife failed to win in election when she contested in Lahore as a nominee of PPP. Aitzaz had been with PPP for many long decades but now he realized that he had been betting on a wrong horse. Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani who is former prime minister and had been one of the pillars of PPP also severed his relationship with PPP. Sherry Rehman our ambassador in the USA for about 2 years and had been information minister before has resigned from ambassadorial post signifying that she is unhappy with PPP. Makhdoom Ahmed Mehmood, Governor Punjab also left the post as an acknowledgement that he failed to deliver. Mian Manzoor Wattoo and Saifullah Khan who had been responsible to bag maximum votes for PPP in Punjab and Pukhtun Khawa have tendered their resignations since they utterly failed in mustering any support for PPP.

All of those who resigned from PPP have earned praise from everyone including me and I very sincerely wish that each one of us must respond to their moral conscious and I am pretty sure that none will oppose me on this count.
