Presidential Candidate "Zardari's" story of loot and plunders (Part one)

Asif Ali Zardari is a metaphor of loot, plunders and murders who is nominated as Presidential candidate by PPP, as a citizen of Pakistan we have the right to ask Election commission of Pakistan, to ask for local/oversea assets, bank accounts and share holders in his businesses. Moreover simultaneously accounts and businesses of Rahman Malik, Zulfiqar Mirza, Farahnaz Ispahani, Raja Pervez Ashraf, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Gen. Mahmood Durrani, Sherry Rahman and some other persons directly or indirectly involved in corruption. Benazir, Zardari and Nusrat Bhutto declared total assets $ 1.2 million in 1996 and, did not disclosed any foreign accounts or properties, in 1990 Asif Ali Zardar declared "No assets" in 1990, and $402,000 in 1996.Benazir's highest income was declared $ 42,200 in 1996 (paid a tax of $5, 1100) and Asif Ali Zardari's highest declared income was$13,100 etc. He also murdered Murtaza Bhutto, Justice Nizam, Justice Nabi Sher Junejo and Aalam Bloch, last one was the judge of courts who was dealing with cases of Zardar, he was eliminated, all murders are cold blooded murders.

He is also suspect in Benazir's murder, being top beneficiary, what will be status of enquiry that PPP has asked from UNO, he will influence enquiry, as Mush did when Scotland team arrived for investigation, Min of interior was misguided whole team, now since it is very clear that everything happening in Pakistan has the basis of some kind of deal, Dubai deal, NRO, MQM's absence against Mush, and departure of Mush and many other incidences have three players, Generals "“ PPP "“ Anglo Americans.

Supreme Courts Bar Association, PML N, PML Q, APDM or any citizen must try to block his nomination, it is revival of Mush era, PPP is a fascist party, entire control over Pak Army will lead to escalation in civil war, and PPP will require same type of kick which Mush has received. Some available details are as under, which will be represented in installments, there are hundred thousand of pages which contain details of corruption, loot, barbarism and terrorism of Zardari. Pakistani's living overseas are requested to help in providing necessary details about assets, businesses and Bank accounts of Zardari-Benazir-Nusrat Bhutto. Remember history is repeating itself, rewind your memories that when "Aamir Lodhi" made deal with Zardari, his sister "Maleeha Lodhi" was appointed as Ambassador at Washington, now fear of exposure of plunders let Zardari appoint Hussain Haqqani and puppet of CIA Farahnaz Isphahani to shut mouths of peoples, and to scratch evidences of corruption of Zardari-Benazir spread over in different states of USA, UK, EU and Gulf countries.

Following data is collected and copied from different websites and papers, most comprehensive report was published by New York Times some years back, being most sacred newspaper in Islamic world (some says after Quran New York Times and Washington Post  but some consider them before Quran), NY Times report and parts of some other reports are also mentioned, click given links for complete reports to highlight plunders of Benazir and Zardari.

Properties of Zardari in France:

La Manoir De La Reine Blanche and property in Cannes

France is famous as Bhutto's son Shahnawaz Bhutto was killed there, he had Afghan wife (sister of first wife of Murtaza Bhutto, and mother of Fatima Bhutto), PPP put blame on Gen Zia for seeking political advantage, truth is not that PPP is telling, it has other storey which require separate column. However taking advantage from dead bodies shows the mentality of PPP's politics how criminal mentality its leaders have.

Properties of Zardari in Belgium:

It is also speculated that a palace owned by Rahman Malik at London, where major political meetings were held, is also Zardari's property, because Rahman Malik belongs to a poor family of Sialkot, his relatives are mostly barbers (hair dressers) in that area. He is has no power to own a 5 million $ villa at posh area of London.

 Reply:   Zardari Corruption
Replied by(Haque) Replied on (26/Aug/2008)
z

The National Reconciliation Order absolved politicians, bankers and bureaucrats "” but not ordinary citizens "” charged with corruption offenses from 1988 to October 1999, when Mr. Musharraf grabbed power in a bloodless coup. The five cases against Mr. Zardari that were dismissed last week ranged from charges that he took $10 million in kickbacks from a gold importing company to allegations that he improperly used government funds to build a polo ground at the prime minister's residence in Islamabad.

In the gold case, Mr. Zardari was charged with taking bribes from ARY International Exchange, a gold bullion dealership based in Dubai, in exchange for awarding the company an exclusive license in 1994 to import more than $500 million worth of gold that was used in Pakistan's jewelry businesses. A report on private banking and money laundering in the United States Congress in 1999 said Mr. Zardari had accumulated $40 million in Citibank accounts. In describing the ARY case, the report cited allegations that some of Mr. Zardari's Citibank accounts were used to "disguise $10 million in kickbacks for a gold importing contract in Pakistan." Mr. Zardari always denied the charges, and the head of the company, Abdul Razzak Yaqub, denied he had paid bribes.

Another case that was dismissed by the anticorruption court involved charges that Mr. Zardari had received illegal commissions from two Swiss companies, Cotecna, and Société Générale de Surveillance, after the companies were awarded a contract for pre-shipment inspections for imports to Pakistan. That case is also being tried in Switzerland. In 2003, a Swiss magistrate found him and Ms. Bhutto guilty on money laundering charges, and ordered them to return $12 million to the Pakistani government. The couple fought the charges vigorously and appealed the case, prompting a new investigation by the Swiss authorities that resulted in new charges of aggravated money laundering.

Mr. Zardari, who has various health problems and declined to show up at hearings in Geneva after his release from prison in 2004 on the grounds that he was too ill, has continued to appeal the case, now being heard by the court of appeals there. In Britain, Mr. Zardari faces a civil case brought in connection with a country manor with hundreds of acres in southern England where he made extensive renovations, including the installation of an imitation of a local pub. The Pakistani government is seeking to recover the money that Mr. Zardari used to pay for the manor on the grounds that it was ill-gotten gains. People involved in the case said last week that the case was still active and being contested by Mr. Zardari.

The corruption charges against Mr. Zardari stem from his actions during Ms. Bhutto's two terms as prime minister, a time when he was known as "Mr. 10 Percent" because of allegations that he demanded a cut of contracts after his wife assumed office in 1988. She was dismissed in 1990 after two years in office, and Mr. Zardari served three years in prison from 1990 to 1993 on corruption charges that were never proved. In her second term, from 1993 to 1996, he wielded more power as minister of environment and investment

He remained in prison until November 2004, shuffling among facilities in Lahore, Rawalpindi and his home city of Karachi, always the wheeler dealer, whether in jail or out. Mr. Zardari was classified as an A class prisoner and received certain privileges: a separate room from the main prison wing with an attached bathroom, air-conditioning and two servants.

A lawyer, Talib Rizvi, who often visited him in jail, said Mr. Zardari always managed to have the best of food, and always seemed in high spirits. "I had one of my finest lunches in that jail "” Asif used to get food from Clifton House," said Mr. Rizvi, referring to the grand Bhutto family residence in Karachi. "He would get food for 50 people." Expensive
gifts to friends were customary, including gold cufflinks "worth thousands of dollars," and sets of fountain pens, he said.

And as generous as Mr. Zardari was toward his friends, Mr. Rizvi said, he was as tough against his enemies. Mr. Rizvi said Mr. Zardari offered to organize revenge against assailants who had shot at Mr. Rizvi in the remote area of Baluchistan when he went to defend men charged with the murder of a tribal leader. Afterward, Mr. Rizvi, who said he regarded himself as a big admirer of Mr. Zardari, recalled: "I said, 'I am not going to press charges.' Asif said, 'I will see to it "” I will finish them.' " Mr. Rizvi said he advised Mr. Zardari that his offer was not necessary. After his release from jail in 2004 as part of an early but failed reconciliation effort between the Musharraf government and Ms. Bhutto, Mr. Zardari took up residence in Manhattan, living in the elegant
Helmsley Carlton apartment block on 61st Street and Madison Avenue.

Mr. Zardari, attentive to his grooming, which sometimes includes a stylized blackened mustache instead of his natural salt and pepper, has always had a taste for the high life, according to his friends. Azher Khan, who attended high school with him in a rural area of Sindh Province, said Mr. Zardari was something of a playboy in the early 1970s, and had the
advantage of a father who owned the Bambina Cinema, which featured a risqué neon sign. In the early 1970s, Mr. Zardari went to London. There,
he said in the interview, he attended the London School of Business Studies and received a bachelor of education degree. His official biography says he attended a commercial college called Pedinton School.
But a search of tertiary educational institutions in London showed no such school, and associates said he did not finish his studies.

The question of whether Mr. Zardari has a university degree is a delicate matter because President Musharraf introduced a law in 2002 that made it
compulsory for parliamentary candidates to hold a degree in order to qualify for electoral office. There are now expectations among his political colleagues and in the Pakistani news media that Mr. Zardari will run for Parliament so he can then assume the post of prime minister.
In the interview, Mr. Zardari said the prime minister's office did not interest him because it would be "very restrictive." He wanted, instead, to
re-energize the Pakistan Peoples Party.

Asked in the interview if he had a degree, Mr. Zardari replied: "I do have a degree. That is not an issue." He said he attended the London School of Business Studies "much before I was married. I think it's a B.Ed. degree. I haven't really looked at it," he said, referring to a bachelor of education. Mr. Zardari, three years younger than Ms. Bhutto, was chosen as her husband by Ms. Bhutto's mother at the moment when Ms. Bhutto was entering politics. It was considered an unusual match: brainy Oxford and Harvard graduate with a polo-loving, hard-living charmer. Once Ms. Bhutto came into power, Mr. Zardari was often regarded as a liability in her political career.

Ahmad Mukhtar, who was commerce minister in Ms. Bhutto's second term and appears to be Mr. Zardari's favored candidate for prime minister in the new
coalition government, recalls telling Ms. Bhutto: "There is propaganda against him, and we get a black name from it. Next time you come to power send him to play polo in Argentina." But Mr. Mukhtar said he came to like Mr. Zardari when they shared time together in jail in Karachi. Mr.
Mukhtar was arrested in May 2000 by the Musharraf government on charges connected with his tenure as commerce minister. The charges were dropped 17 months later.

Mr. Zardari is one of more than a dozen people accused in a conspiracy in 1996 to kill Ms. Bhutto's brother, Murtaza, a political opponent of Mr. Zardari and Ms. Bhutto, according to Omar Sial, a lawyer for the family of Mr. Bhutto. Asked in the interview if he was on bail, Mr. Zardari replied: "That is correct." And not just in one case, he added, "but I don't know how many."

The murder case is still active but has languished for 12 years, because Mr. Zardari and the other defendants, mostly policemen, have failed to show up in court. "He claims to be grievously ill and says he couldn't
travel," said Fatima Bhutto, the daughter of Murtaza Bhutto and a critic of Ms. Bhutto and her husband. "Then his wife dies, he turns up fit and fine, perfectly healthy and it seems to be lies." Even now that Mr. Zardari is in the country, however, no one here believes the case will be pursued seriously.

Benazir Bhutto: The fall of a corrupt puppet

"I had the chance to meet her (Benazir Bhutto) on several occasions, in which she expressed interest in Israel and said that she hoped to visit upon returning to power." -Shimon Peres (President of "Israel", pictured above with Benazir Bhutto at a "socialist international" (sic) conference)

Update: December 30th - According to a hand written will of Benazir Bhutto, she wanted her husband to take over as chairman of the Pakistan's People's Party (PPP). Zardari, apparently also brought in his and Benazir Bhutto's son, Bilawal as co-chair. A father son team.

Zardari's corruption is detailed below, I won't place too much emphasis on Bilawal's age 'cause there are lots of 19 year olds who are far more mature than many 70 year olds. But what does need to be mentioned is that he left the country at age 11, he can barely, if at all, speak the language of the country Urdu, let alone any of the provincial languages. Infact, his contact with Pakistan, in all probability, has been limited to the mansions where his mother and father lived. And he has no plans on staying in Pakistan, he is off to England to continue his "studies" at Oxford - and so, this is "democracy?" Is it any wonder that Muslims all over the world find this word to be more and more suspect?

A few months back (October 18th, 2007) Benazir Bhutto returned to Pakistan at the behest of a three way arrangement between herself, the hated dictator puppet Musharraf, and the United States. At the outset of this arrangement, it was clear that Bhutto would provide the democratic facade to the neo-colonial project of the US in Pakistan.

For Benazir Bhutto, the decision to return to Pakistan was sealed during a telephone call from Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice just a week before Bhutto flew home in October. The call culminated more than a year of secret diplomacy -- and came only when it became clear that the heir to Pakistan's most powerful political dynasty was the only one who could bail out Washington's key ally in the battle against terrorism.

It was a stunning turnaround for Bhutto, a former prime minister who was forced from power in 1996 amid corruption charges. She was suddenly visiting with top State Department officials, dining with U.N. Ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad and conferring with members of the National Security Council. As President Pervez Musharraf's political future began to unravel this year, Bhutto became the only politician who might help keep him in power.

In many ways she was the ideal US face on the "democracy promotion" lie: Benazir was "educated" at the Imperial University of Harvard, she was articulate when speaking the lies of imperialism (couched in terms of "democracy") and could even appeal to some of the lslamophobic liberal-left crowd with her fake social-democratic credentials, and she was considered "beautiful" by the gossip rags. The icing on the cake was her recent conversion to staunch secularist ideas (wrapped in a half covered head scarf ) and she now opposed the Islamic political parties within Pakistan (not that these "Islamic parties" in Pakistan have much to offer). I say recent conversion, because Benazir was the one who gave the go ahead to the horribly sectarian anti-Shia (and anti-Iran) Taliban, who took over Afghanistan in the late 1996s.

The Taliban took power in Kabul in September 1996. It was during Bhutto's rule that the Taliban gained prominence in Afghanistan. She viewed the Taliban as a group that could stabilize Afghanistan and enable trade access to the Central Asian republics, according to author Stephen Coll.[18] He claims that her government provided military and financial support for the Taliban, even sending a small unit of the Pakistani army into Afghanistan.

But before Benazir could return to Pakistan there was some work to be done:

1. Musharraf had to be convinced that his time was up - and now it was Benazir's time to serve the US.

This took some arm twisting, but he was convinced, he would allow Benazir to become the PM if he was allowed to remain the President.

2. The pending corruption charges in Pakistan had to be dropped.

Since few, if any of the big landlords (feudals) or capitalist industrialists are prosecuted for corruption anyways, this was no big deal.

3. Two acts had to be passed in order to allow Benazir to take the helm.

i) A National Reconciliation Act that would absolve her of all of her past corruptions

ii) Another constitutional amendment was to allow her to become the Prime Minister of Pakistan for the third time (and allow Musharraf to remain President).

These two ammendments were pending challenges in Pakistan's Supreme Court when Busharraf declared his martial law, got rid of the judges, and installed his own kind. These new judges, in blind obedience, did whatever was asked of them.

The declaration of martial law by Busharraf led to some minor concerns for Benazir because she came under some slight pressure from her liberal-elite supporters - so she made some half hearted attempts to challenge the measures. However, the declaration of martial law, and deposing of the judges were as much for her benefit, as for Musharraf. And she eventually backed off any direct confrontations, and was happy to continue as if nothing had changed. Benazir, now free of the corruption charges, free of any other constitutional road blocks, went into political deal making mode for her party to "win" the biggest share of seats.

These deals were to maintain the status quo in Pakistan, it would allow her to gain Prime Ministership with a host of loyal landlords and industrialists backing her, who would continue to have a free hand to loot the country of its wealth and resources. And her patron, the US, would continue its neo-colonial project unhindered about any worries about Pakistan not being a "democracy."

A Pakistani NGO reported that nearly half of the candidates on the PPP (Benazir's party) are feudal landlords, and most of the rest are connected to super wealthy industrialist types. Far from being a savior of democracy (in the better sense of this word) Bhutto was a savior of the feudals and industrialists.

Benazir was indicted at a Swiss court on charges of creating off shore companies to receive kick backs from government contracts.

Benazir and Zardari were, thus, paid $8,190,085 in the account of Bomer Finance Inc. at UBS Geneva; and $3,807,338 in the account of Nassam Overseas Inc. at Barclays Geneva; a total of $11,997,423. Both Benazir and Zardari were sentenced "to reimburse" these proceeds of "the unfair management of the public interests" of Pakistan which were "laundered in Switzerland". There were $2,484,000 in the account of Bomer and $3,748,373 in the account of Nassam at Barclays. Bomer transferred to Hospital Middle East Inc. at UBS, Geneva, $5,502,292. All these, totalling $11,734,665, were ordered to be confiscated.

And:

Bhutto's twin posts, as prime minister and finance minister, gave her virtually free rein. Zardari became her alter ego, riding roughshod over the bureaucracy although he had no formal economic powers until Bhutto appointed him Investment Minister, reporting only to herself, in July 1996. They maintained an imperial lifestyle in the new prime minister's residence in Islamabad, a $50 million mansion set on 110 acres on an Islamabad hilltop.

Within days of moving in, Zardari ordered 11.5 acres of protected woodland on an adjoining hilltop to be bulldozed for a polo field, an exercise track, stabling for 40 polo ponies, quarters for grooms and a parking lot for spectators. When a senior government official, Mohammed Mehdi, objected to paying for the project with $1.3 million diverted from a budget for parks and other public amenities, Zardari "categorically told me that he does not appreciate his orders to be examined and questioned by any authority," according to an affidavit filed with the Pakistani investigators by Mehdi. A few months later, with the work in progress, Zardari had Mehdi dismissed.

The investigators say that Zardari and associates he brought into the government, some of them old school friends, began reviewing state programs for opportunities to make money. It was these broader activities, the investigators assert, more than the relatively small number of foreign deals revealed in the documents taken from the Swiss lawyer, that netted the largest sums for the Bhutto family.

It does need to be noted that none of what Benazir and her husband Zardari (aka Mr. 10%) did was out of the ordinary for the Pakistani elites. This is more of a reminder that, while the mainstream media is potraying her as a martyr for "democracy," she was, in reality, nothing more than a petty thief who deserved to have been tried in a court of law, and should have been serving out a jail sentence for corruption, not running for Prime Ministership.

Benazir's closeness to the present US regime was even more disturbing; in a recent statement, she made the incredible claim that

"In the past the United States would support dictatorships but now it is supporting democratic forces, which is a sign of encouragement for all the democracy-loving people."

Aside from her unstinting support of the US war on "terror" (i.e. war on Islam and Muslims) she did not have a single word of criticism for the continued US occupation of Afghanistan, and Iraq, and was all for having regular consultative meetings with US state department officials to coordinate her return to power.

Pakistan is undergoing its most difficult crisis yet, and without leadership, and no cohesive indigenous based ideology, the army is the only institution that can manage to stay in power. But a center that is based on such a high level of corruption, and obedience to imperial masters will not be able to hold on for any length of time. And unless there emerges a real grassroots movement for social and economic justice with an Islamic identity that would appeal to the masses, it will be difficult, if not impossible for the country to maintain its integrity.

Asif Zardari's - List of Local & International Wealth

August 17, 2008

I have been in receipt of this extensive list of Asif Zardari's Local and International holdings sent to me via a number of sources, in all honesty I have no way of precisely confirming the authenticity of this list but place it on this blog in an attempt to figure out what true what is simply hype. There is little doubt in my mind that this list may be quite close to being authentic considering the massive corruption that has plagued Pakistan in his previous two tenures in power, little to know that the Metamorphosis of 2008 which changed the way he appeared orchestrated after the assassination of his wife on 27th December 2007. Are we to believe in a 'rejuvenated, honest by-the-books leader', or are we gearing up to push Zardari further up into Pakistans Rich List of 2008 where he was previously ranked at #2.
I can also suspect that the sudden revelation if this list could be a deliberate retaliation by the 'agencies' to push Zardari on the back foot and move off Musharraf's impeachment attack. Whatever be the case this massive list is jaw dropping amazing, I have no idea about the total valuation of the wealth itemized here but I suspect it could easily be an aggregated wealth as listed = £900m / ($1.8billion) or more
